WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, I CAME UP ON MY TURN AND TRIED TO SLOW DOWN. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WHICH WAS ABOVE MINIMUM, BUT FILLED TO MAXIMUM AND TRIED TO BLEED BRAKES. DROVE HOME VERY CAUTIOUSLY. REPLACED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH DID NOT FIX BRAKE PROBLEM. RESEARCHED PROBLEM FURTHER ONLINE AND FOUND RECALL ON 2006-2010 FORD FUSION, HOWEVER THE BUILD DATES DO NOT INCLUDE THIS CAR BY APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO HONOR THE RECALL FOR THIS REASON. HAVE ALSO READ OTHER CLAIMS OF 2011 FORD FUSIONS ALSO HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR THE J02 RECALL AS MANDATED BY CALIFORNIA DMV. I EXPRESSED CONCERNS OVER THE RECALL REPAIRS BEFORE WORK WAS DONE, DUE TO THE ALARMING NUMBER OF DEALERSHIP ISSUES AND THIS RECALL. THE SERVICE AGENT ASSURED ME THEY UNDERSTOOD THE COMPLEXITY OF THE REPAIR AND THAT THE TECHNICIANS WERE ADEQUATELY TRAINED. PICK UP MY CAR A WEEK LATER, AND HAVE ENGINE PROBLEMS WITHIN 30 MILES. BROUGHT IT BACK IN AND TOLD THEM WHAT THEY WOULD FIND IN THE OIL SUMP BEFORE THEY OPENED IT (METAL SHAVINGS AND SILICONE). I KNEW THIS BECAUSE OF ALL THE OTHER FRS OWNER ISSUES. SURE ENOUGH THEY FIND EXACTLY THAT IN THE OIL SUMP/PICKUP SCREEN. DEALER CLAIMED THAT WAS THEIR PREVIOUSLY AND NOT FROM THEIR WORK, BUT ASSURED ME THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING FIND WITH GOOD OIL PRESSURE. I EVEN ASKED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I HAD THOSE PROBLEMS AGAIN, I WAS TOLD WE WILL CROSS THAT BRIDGE WHEN WE GET THERE. SO I DROVE IT TO WORK, AND HAD ENGINE FAILURE BEFORE I EVEN GOT INTO THE PARKING LOT. HAD TO PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK TO GET IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHARGED ME A 1200 DOLLAR DEPOSIT TO EVEN DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM ONLY TO LATER TELL ME THAT CORPORATE TOYOTA NOR THE DEALERSHIP WILL BE TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. I WAS TOLD I EITHER CAN TRADE IT IN (MINUS THE 3600 DOLLARS FOR ENGINE DISASSEMBLY WHICH I WAS FORCED INTO, DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING). ON 6/13/2020 THE DRIVE BELT SHREDDED WHILE DRIVING UNDER 30MPH, UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION. AT FIRST, THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, FOLLOWED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WHITE SMOKE BEGAN TO COME FROM THE ENGINE. THANKFULLY, I WAS NEARBY MY HOUSE AND MADE IT THERE SAFELY. FURTHERMORE, THE ENGINE OVERHEATED DUE TO A COOLANT HOSE BEING KNOCKED OFF BY THE SHREDDED BELT. ADDITIONALLY, THE WATER PUMP AND A/C COMPRESSOR FAILED. THE PULLEY TENSIONER ASSEMBLY AND BELT WERE REPLACED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, ALONG WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED FAILED COMPONENTS. ALL WORK WAS DONE AT GRUBBS INFINITI OF GRAPEVINE, TX AND THE REPAIR TOOK EXACTLY THREE WEEKS TO FIX. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,660. PREVIOUSLY, ON MARCH 6, 2019, INFINITI OF VAN NUYS, CA, TIGHTENED THE PULLEY TENSIONER ASSEMBLY DUE TO A SQUEAKING NOISE I WAS HEARING WHILE ACCELERATING. VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. I WAS INFORMED THAT IF I HADN'T HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED BEFORE MY DRIVE BACK TO TEXAS, MY DRIVE BELT COULD HAVE SHREDDED. AFTER THE DEALER ADDRESSED THE CONCERN NO FURTHER NOISE WAS HEARD AT ALL. THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN AND HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN INFINITI SERVICE BULLETINS.
