DEALERSHIP DISCOVERED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN18-2249 FOR 2.7L F150 BUILT ON OR BEFORE 27-NOV-2017 "WHILE TOWING-INTERMITTENT ENGINE STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP" SERVICE BULLETIN INSTRUCTS MECHANIC TO REPROGRAM THE PCM USING THE APPROPRIATE FORD SCAN TOOL AT THE LATEST SOFTWARE LEVEL. DEALERSHIP DID THIS REPROGRAMMING ON OUR TRUCK, BUT SINCE THEY CAN'T TEST THE TRUCK FOR A FIX, BECAUSE IT ONLY STALLS WHEN TOWING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, WE HAVE TO PUT OUR SAFETY AT RISK AGAIN AND DRIVE THE TRUCK TOWING OUR TRAILER AT LEAST HUNDRED MILES TO SEE IF THE STALLING HAPPENS. AFTER GOING ONLINE AND RESEARCHING THE STEERING PROBLEM I FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THERE 2013 FORD F-150'S. EVEN OTHER YEARS OF FORD F-150 HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS ALSO. THE 2014 F-150 HAVE A RECALL ON THERE STEERING SYSTEMS. FORD HAS NOT TO THIS DAY ISSUED A RECALL YET FOR THE 2013 FORD F-150 BUT IT HAS RECALLS FOR FUSIONS AND OTHER 2013 FORD MODELS. THIS IS VERY DISCONCERTING TO ME BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. LUCKILY I WASN'T GOING 75 ON THE FREEWAY AROUND A CURVE WHEN THIS HAPPENED OR THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHE. SHAME ON FORD FOR PUTTING FAULTY STEERING SYSTEMS IN THESE VEHICLES AND NOT ISSUING A RECALL STILL. I HAD TO PAY $2,000 TO GET THE RACK AND PINION REPLACED AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY MAKE ME PAY FOR THERE FAULTY PART. I DO NOT FEELS SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK ANYMORE AND I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT IN THE FUTURE.
