THE POLICE CARS WERE EQUIPPED WITH COOLERS SO THAT THE PTU WOULD NOT OVERHEAT. 3. THE CARS WITH THE PTUS SOLD OVERSEAS WERE GIVEN A DRAIN PLUG. 4. FORD SWITCHED THE MAKERS TO A NEW ONE BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENTS. I SENT AN EMAIL TO NANCY JOY FALOTICO, PRESIDENT, THE LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY, NOT HEARING I CALLED THE EXECUTIVE OFFICES, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ANOTHER REP. WHO WAS RESPONDING FOR MS. FALOTICO, SHE SAID AGAIN, NOTHING COULD BE DONE. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS AND IF THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL YOU CAN GET REIMBURSEMENT. THE MALFUNCTION OF THIS PART COULD HAVE CATASTROPHIC RESULTS. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED FROM THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS TREATED FOR A BROKEN BACK. THE OTHER DRIVER REPORTED NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INITIALLY TOWED FROM THE SCENE OF ACCIDENT TO AN INDEPENDENT COLLISION CENTER. I NOTICED MY BRAKES WOULDN'T DISENGAGE. I TRIED TO DO THE MAINTENANCE RELEASE THROUGH THE CAR'S RADIO AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME DO IT. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. SO I THEN TRIED TO TURN OFF AND ON THE CAR AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. SO THEN I THOU MAYBE IF I DROVE IT, THEY WOULD RELEASE AND JUST AS I HIT 45MPH, THEY DID. AND STARTED TO PREFORM NORMALLY. AN HOUR LATER, I STOPPED BY MY MOTHER-IN-LAW HOUSE TO TAKE CAR OF HER DOGS LIKE I'VE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS AND WHEN I WAS READY TO LEAVE. THE CAR BATTERY DIED. I'M NOT QUITE SURE HOW CAUSE I DON'T LEAVE MY LIGHTS ON EVER. AND I SAT THERE TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO TOW IT TO THE STORE WITH CAR BATTERY AND HAD THEM SWITCHED. THEY CAME TO TELL ME THAT THEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR OUT OF GEAR. SO I WENT OUT THERE TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND THEY WERE RIGHT. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE BUT I COULDN'T GET IT TO CHANGE GEARS. ON MY DASHBOARD. MY SMALL SCREEN SAID TO SERVICE THE PARK BRAKE AND I THOUGHT, WHAT THAT THE BRAKES GOT TO DO WITH IT'S TRANSMISSION. I LOOKED AND SAW MY MILEAGE, 93,568, WAS BLINKING AND MY GEAR INDICATOR AS N. I'M PRETTY SURE THAT THE CAR WAS IN PARK THE HOLE TIME THEY WHERE CHANGING OUT THE BATTERY. THE SHIFTER NOB WAS ABLE TO TURN BUT I WASN'T CHANGING THE GEAR EITHER. SO AFTER THAT, I RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE, THAT'S SOMEHOW MADE THE CARE SHOW IT WAS IN DRIVE, AND HAD IT TOWED BACK TO MY MOTHER-IN-LAW HOUSE.
