THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT ALSO FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED 3 ADDITIONAL TIMES WITH THE FAILURE RECURRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. WINN KIA OF FREMONT (5633 JOHN MUIR DR, NEWARK, CA 94560) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN, AND TO BRING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR OCT 14 ,2020. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THERE COULD BE A FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.

ODDLY, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WOULD RESET ITSELF AND THE CODES WOULD GO AWAY TEMPORARILY. THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND CABLES, WHICH I DID ON 7/17/20 AND 7/31/20. HOWEVER, ON MY LAST TRIP I HAD TO GET TOWED BACK TO MY HOME ON 09/01/20 FOR THE SAME REASON AS I WAS STRANDED ON A HIGHWAY ON THE WAY TO A FUNERAL FOR A FAMILY FRIEND. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS. I CAN'T LET MY WIFE OR KIDS USE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS SO RANDOMLY. THE REPAIR SHOP SAYS THAT IT IS A MYSTERY TO THEM AS THEY HAVE CALLED THEIR GMC SPECIALTY TECHNICIANS FOR ADVICE. IN ADDITION, DISENGAGING THE CLUTCH CAUSES A FLUCTUATION IN RPM DEPENDING ON CLUTCH LEVER POSITION. WITH ABSOLUTELY NO THROTTLE INPUT AND WITH CLUTCH LEVER TOUCHING THE GRIP, TRANSMISSION IDLES AT SAME LEVEL IN GEAR AS IT DOES WHEN IN NEUTRAL (APPROXIMATELY 750). HOWEVER, ONCE LEVER MOVES A MERE ⅛ INCH FROM GRIP, THE RPMS INCREASE BY APPROXIMATELY 500 RPM. THIS OCCURS WHEN LEVER STILL HAS AT LEAST ANOTHER 1 INCH OF TRAVEL TO GO UNTIL FRICTION ZONE (ENGAGEMENT). THIS CONDITION IS ALWAYS PRESENT.
