Summary
The vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine compartment fire while safely parked inside an employment parking garage in [XXX] on XXX, at approximately 3:04 PM. I was physically sitting inside the vehicle cabin when heavy smoke suddenly began pouring out from the engine bay. I immediately evacuated the vehicle for my safety. Within moments, the smoke escalated into an active, un-contained fire that completely consumed the vehicle. The local fire department responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. The vehicle is a total loss. This safety incident occurred exactly one week after I received the official manufacturer safety recall notice by mail for Hyundai Recall 301 (NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V308000), which outlines an overheating transistor defect within the Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU) capable of causing a vehicle fire. The vehicle caught fire due to this exact un-remedied defect before I could realistically bring it to a dealership for the required safety software update. Summary
The backup camera in my vehicle has failed repeatedly since I first purchased my vehicle in February 2020. I have had 2 very near miss car accidents because the backup camera went blank while driving and following directions. The backup camera also retains the backup image on the camera after shifting gears from reverse to drive. This defect has been well documented with Murphy Ford dealership in Chester, PA where I purchased the vehicle and also Chapman Ford dealership where I have had the vehicle serviced multiple times. Both dealerships told me the problem was a software problem that was not covered under warranty and the fix was over $600. One of the times I went to Murphy Ford, they said they could not replicate the problem, so the time I was almost in an accident, I took the vehicle directly to their dealership when the screen was blank and had pictures taken and insisted the service mechanic witnessed the blank screen. Again, they refused to fix the problem, stating it was not covered. There is now an active recall for Ford Escape vehicles for 2020 and newer vehicles for the same exact problems. I called Ford Customer Care and they refused to fix my vehicle or include 2019 vehicles in the recall. Their only suggestions was for me to retain any receipts for having the repair completed in case Ford issued a recall at a later date for 2019 models, then I could be reimbursed. I simply do not have the money to have this fixed at this time, as my husband is out of work and on disability and he has very high medical expenses.

Summary
I purchased this new full-size heavy-duty pickup, and at purchase the selling dealer installed a 3-inch suspension lift kit with 37-inch tires on 22-inch wheels as a paid dealer upfit. The lift kit manufacturer publishes a maximum tire size of 35 inches on a 20-inch wheel for this kit; the tires and wheels the dealer installed exceed that spec. The lift manufacturer confirmed directly that they would never approve exceeding the 35-inch tire / 20-inch wheel recommendation. The dealer's assistant manager confirmed that NO calibrations of any kind were performed after the lift and 37-inch tires were installed, and said nothing is recalibrated when a lift is done with 37-inch tires. This vehicle is factory-equipped with forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam control. These crash-avoidance systems rely on forward-facing camera and sensor aim, which depends on ride height and suspension geometry. A 3-inch lift with 37-inch tires materially changes that geometry. With no calibration performed, there is no assurance these safety systems are aimed or functioning to spec. The truck was also never aligned after the lift and the tires are cupping. The headlights were never re-aimed for the higher ride height, and the speedometer was never recalibrated and reads inaccurately. The oversized tires also contact the body. The left front tire has torn into the front fender, the fender well is misaligned, and it is forcing the lower front edge of the driver's door out of alignment. The dealer's only proposed remedy is to keep cutting the fender wells; the trimming already done has exposed electrical wiring behind the wheel well to mud, water, and road debris. I am reporting this because the assistant manager's statement suggests it may be the dealer's standing practice—other customers may be driving lifted trucks with uncalibrated crash-avoidance systems without knowing it.

To the Vehicle Safety Complaint Division: I am filing a safety complaint regarding brake service performed on a 2025 Buick Envista (VIN: [XXX]) by Suburban Buick GMC of Troy, 1850 W Maple Rd, Troy, MI 48084, an authorized GM dealership. Safety Issue: The vehicle was brought in on XXX with brake pulsation at 20,689 miles. Suburban performed rotor resurfacing on all four rotors and certified the repair as complete and verified on XXX. On XXX — 13 days after Suburban certified the repair — Moran Buick GMC of Sterling Heights found the rear rotors causing the identical brake pulsation symptom. [XXX]'s service advisor determined the rear rotor was rubbing against another component and stated in his professional opinion that Suburban's prior service caused the condition. The corrective repair was processed as a GM warranty claim. Safety Concern: A certified brake repair on a 21,342-mile vehicle failed within days of service. The failure involved the braking system — a safety-critical component. The original service manager dismissed the customer's safety concern by stating failure would depend on "how you drive." The 2022 RAM Promaster 1500 was converted by Thor Industries to a 2024 Thor Scope 18M in spring 2023 before I purchased it from a dealer in Connecticut. However, information concerning this conversion was not shared with the federal government as the vehicle VIN still lists it as a Promaster 1500. This caused me to miss notification for NHTSA Campaign Number 25V792000 involving a potential travel hazard created by adhesive failure leading to solar panel detachment. While traveling south to St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada on [XXX] on [XXX], the panel on the roof did detach when the vehicle I was driving was passed by a bus. The incident occurred on a lightly traveled section of road and did not result in additional damage.
