- Complexity: ODIS software can be complex and non-intuitive, and training is often recommended for new users to navigate the menus effectively.
- Component Protection (CP): VW/Audi vehicles have component protection, which links certain modules (like radios or multimedia interfaces) to the specific vehicle. Only ODIS with online access can remove this protection, even for used modules.

Only the following software and hardware is supported for the vehicle diagnostic software.
Software:
- Windows 10 or 11 Professional 64 Bit or Windows 10 or 11 Enterprise 64 Bit Operating Systems
Hardware:
- VAS6150F or Commercial laptop with 16GB DDR4 RAM, Intel® Core™i5-1145G7, vPro™, 2.6GHz processor, 512GB SSD
- VAS6154A Diagnostic Link Connector or J2534 Pass-Thru
5 Steps Towards Vehicle Diagnostics
All steps must be completed in order. Perform only those steps not already completed.
| Step 1 | Independent Shop Registration Once the application is approved it will take 10-14 business days before you receive an email from us on how to proceed with your ODIS installation. Note: There is no way to speed this process up as many steps are required in several systems. |
