Summary
Certain Palisade (LX3) and Palisade Hybrid
(LX3 HEV) vehicles may exhibit a “Check Active Air Flap System” warning message, Engine MIL ON, and/or “Low Engine Oil” warning message, due to improper operation of the Active Air Flap (AAF) system. DTCs include, but are not limited to: P05AE00, P05B100, P05B200, P05B400, P05FE00, P15A200, P15A500, P2C7400, U028500, U028B00, and/or U100800. This condition may be caused by water ingress and corrosion at the wiring connections for the lower AAF actuators and/or sensors. This bulletin contains instructions to inspect the front bumper wiring connectors, AAF actuators, and sensors for water ingress and corrosion, and to replace them if necessary.

SUBJECT:
This TSB supersedes 26-01-026H to update the parts information table on page 2, the flowchart
on page 5, and the service procedure on pages 6-19, including additional instructions on pages
13 and 19 for grille removal and reinstallation.
IMPORTANT
Dealers must perform this limited coverage campaign on all affected vehicles within 5 / 60,000 New
Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW) prior to customer retail delivery and whenever an affected vehicle
is in the shop for any maintenance or repair. See Warranty Information section for more details.
Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WebDCS to verify “Warranty Start Date” and ensure the
vehicle is within NVLW, observing mileage prior to any repair work.
Description: Certain Palisade (LX3) and Palisade Hybrid (LX3 HEV) vehicles may exhibit a “Check
Active Air Flap System” warning message, Engine MIL ON, and/or “Low Engine Oil” warning message,
due to improper operation of the Active Air Flap (AAF) system. DTCs include, but are not limited to:
P05AE00, P05B100, P05B200, P05B400, P05FE00, P15A200, P15A500, P2C7400, U028500,
U028B00, and/or U100800. This condition may be caused by water ingress and corrosion at the wiring
connections for the lower AAF actuators and/or sensors. This bulletin contains instructions to inspect
the front bumper wiring connectors, AAF actuators, and sensors for water ingress and corrosion, and
to replace them if necessary.

NOTE 5: This TSB includes repair validation photos. Op times include VIN, mileage, and repair

NOTE 6: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.

Oil Level Inspection
1.
Inspect the engine oil level by referring to the
shop manual:
• Engine Mechanical System >
Lubrication System > Engine Oil >
Inspection

PASS: If the engine oil is at the
appropriate level, proceed to the Front
Bumper Wiring & AAF Actuator Pin
Inspection section.
•
FAIL: If the engine oil level is low,
address the root cause of the condition
separate from this TSB, then restart this
campaign procedure.

Information
The oil level should be inspected,
especially in the case of a customer
complaint of low oil light, to ensure that
the light is a result of a wiring related fault
from the LIN circuit, which is shared with
the AAF system. If the light is occurring
for another reason, it is not related to this
TSB.

Visually check that the lift blocks are properly
seated on the vehicle support points and raise
the vehicle.
NOTICE
Raising the vehicle from anywhere other
than the support points may damage
vehicle components.

Disconnect the AAF actuator connectors (B),
then visually inspect both the LH and RH front
bumper wiring connectors for water ingress or
corrosion.

o Proceed to step 4.

FAIL: If damage is found:

NOTICE
If any corrosion or signs of water ingress
are found on the RH side, full parts list
replacement is needed (see flowchart).

corrosion to ensure no damage is missed.
