LEAK TEST FOR EV/HEV MODE ENGAGEMENT

SUBJECT:

Description: Some Palisade Hybrid (LX3 HEV) vehicles may exhibit continuous engine operation due
to the vehicle being unable to enter EV/HEV modes. The vehicle may initially start in EV/HEV mode,
but will quickly transition to running the engine only and will not revert back to EV/HEV mode. The “EV”
light may intermittently flicker on, but the vehicle will not change modes. This bulletin provides
instructions to perform the “Evaporative Leakage Test” function on the GDS to enable EV/HEV mode
activation.

NOTE 4: If any part(s) not subject to this TSB are found in need of replacement while performing the
repair procedure, and the affected part(s) are still under warranty, the dealer may submit a separate
claim using the same repair order. If the part(s) not subject to this TSB are out of warranty coverage,
the dealer has the option to submit a PA Request for goodwill consideration on a case-by-case basis.

This TSB includes repair justification photos. Refer to the latest Warranty Digital Documentation
Policy for requirements.

Connect the GDS and open the GDS-Smart
application.

2.

Select the correct VIN, then select S/W
Management (A).

Select ENGINE – Engine Control, then select
Evap. Leakage Test (B).

DOCUMENTATION

Using the STUI camera function, take a
photo of the “Test completed! No leak
detected” screen.
Upload the photo to STUI.
NOTE: If the STUI camera function is
NOT used, write the last 6 digits of the
VIN and date of repair on a piece of
paper to include in the photo.

7.

Erase any DTC history that may had
incidentally occurred from the Evaporative
Emissions Leak Test.

8.

Confirm the proper operation of the vehicle.

9.

The service procedure is now complete.
