SUBJECT:
This bulletin provides information to replace the driver’s door lock and trunk lid key cylinders on some 20192024MY Kia vehicles listed below. On affected vehicles, the stored key code may not correspond to the
mechanical key profile, which can result in incorrect key cutting when the original key is lost or damaged.
Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to replace the required key cylinder(s) on the applicable
vehicle.

IMPORTANT
The dealer must check the warranty history to confirm BOD336 has not already been performed
on the VIN, as it is a one-time repair. If it has not been completed, proceed with the repair per TSB
BOD336. Once completed, the bulletin is considered closed. Any subsequent or related concerns
must be addressed under standard Service and Warranty guidelines and not submitted under
BOD336.
NOTICE
A Technical Service Bulletin is a field fix repair program without customer notification that may be
performed and claimed during the eligible warranty period.
*For customers requesting repair and possible goodwill for a vehicle outside of the warranty period,
the dealership must follow the process and procedure outlined in Section 7 (9 & 13) of the Kia Service
Policy manual.

SUBJECT:
Left Front Door Key and Cylinder Set Replacement Procedure: (All Models)
1.
Replace the lock cylinder (A) by referring to
“Body (Interior and Exterior) → Front Door →
Front Door Outside Handle → Removal and
Installation” in the applicable Shop Manual on
KGIS.
Note: EV6 (CV) image for reference use only.
2.
Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order of
removal and confirm normal operation.
3.
Submit the new key code by referring to ‘New
Key Code Submission’ Via KTUS TSB SST083.
Trunk Lid Key Holder Replacement: (Optima Hybrid)
1.
Replace the trunk lid key holder (A) by
referring to “Body (Interior and Exterior) →
Trunk Lid → Trunk Lid Key Holder → Repair
Procedures” in the applicable shop manual in
KGIS.
2.
Confirm normal operation.
