CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC):
● P1A93-12 - Reversible Alternator : Power Electronics Fault - Motor Mode Out-Of-Action.
Customers may also experience one or more of the following:
● Front seat recliner motor is not working.
● Ignition does not turn the engine off.
● Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) - MIL ON.
● Engine cylinder head cover is damaged.
● Belt Start Generator (BSG) engine is not starting.
● Front camera collision warning message is displayed on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
● Headlamp low beam not working and the lens is stained.
● Oil leaking from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.

CAUSE:

Manufacturing issue

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 26-102,
date of issue June 03, 2026. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.
REPAIR SUMMARY:
This bulletin involves performing multiple inspections based on the listed Customer Symptoms and possibly
performing the associated Operations procedure.

Labor Description / Check point / Inspections
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the seat recliner motor:
1. Check for FR seat reclining operation three times.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the ignition switch:
1. Check the Engine Start Stop (ESS) operation
three times.
2. Confirm warning lights are illuminated.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the FPCM:
1. Using the wiTECH, check for related DTCs in the
FPCM.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the engine cylinder head cover.
1. Check for a crack in the engine oil cap.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the headlamp:
1. Confirm the headlamp lens is stained.
2. Confirm the low beam headlamp is inoperative.

1. Check the ESS operation three times.
2. Confirm warning lights are illuminated.
3. Confirm DTC "P1A93 - Reversible Alternator :
Power Electronics Fault - Motor Mode Out-OfAction."is set.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the front camera:
1. Check for collision warning indicator or messages
on the IPC.
The following checks need to be performed prior to
replacing the A/C compressor:
1. Use leak detector or UV dye to check for freon
gas leakage at the A/C compressor.
