LOOSE WINDSHIELD SIDE GARNISH REPLACEMENT

Description: Some Elantra (CN7), Elantra Hybrid (CN7 HEV), and Elantra N (CN7 N) vehicles may
exhibit loose windshield side garnishes. This bulletin provides instructions to replace the windshield
side garnishes with improved parts to correct the condition.

NOTE 2: Submit a "Warranty" claim on the "Claim Entry/Edit/Submit" screen on WebDCS and attach
all required Digital Documentation per TSB to the claim.
NOTE 3: This TSB includes repair justification photos. Op times include VIN, Mileage, and repair
justification photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.
NOTE 4: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.
NOTE 5: If any part(s) not subject to this TSB are found in need of replacement while performing the
repair procedure, and the affected part(s) are still under warranty, the dealer may submit a separate
claim using the same repair order. If the part(s) not subject to this TSB are out of warranty coverage,
the dealer has the option to submit a Prior Approval (PA) Request for goodwill consideration on a
case-by-case basis.

This TSB includes repair justification photos. Refer to the latest Warranty Digital Documentation
Policy for requirements.

Windshield Side Garnish Replacement
1.

DIGITAL
DOCUMENTATION

Using the STUI camera function, take a
photo(s) of the original damaged/loose
windshield side garnish(es).
Upload the photo to STUI.
NOTE: If the STUI camera function is
NOT used, write the last 6 digits of the
VIN and date of repair on a piece of
paper to include in the photo(s).

Apply masking tape to the edge of the A-pillar
next to the windshield side garnish (A).

Use plastic trim tools to remove the top of the
garnish.
! CAUTION
Wear gloves to prevent hand injuries.

4.

Gently lift the garnish, then disengage the rest
of the clips along the outside edge.

NOTICE
Do NOT apply excessive force to the
garnish.

Move the garnish toward the middle of the
windshield and disconnect it from the cowl
panel (B).

Insert the bottom of the new garnish (C) into
the grooves (D) on the cowl panel and press
the part into place.

Engage the clips from the bottom to the top of
the new garnish.

NOTICE
Confirm that all clips are completely
engaged.

8.

Confirm the bottom of the new garnish is fully
engaged and flush with the cowl panel.

9.

Remove the masking tape from the A-pillar.

10.

Repeat steps 2 – 9 on the opposite side of the
vehicle.

11.

The service procedure is now complete.
