CUSTOMER COMPLAINT
The message “Transmission Service Required” is displayed in the meter. This condition may be
accompanied by one or more of the following symptoms: shift flares, harsh shifting, transmission
slipping, and/or reduced forward propulsion. These symptoms may occur at any operating
temperature.
CAUSE
The root cause is currently under review and is under joint investigation with MMNA and MMC.
Possible Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present at time of failure:

P084A Fluid pressure function abnormality
P0730 CVT incorrect gear ratio
P0969 Primary pressure solenoid valve function abnormality
P0776 Abnormality in secondary pressure solenoid valve function
P0868 Line pressure low

REMEDY
Vehicles under 12 months and 12,000 miles from the in-service date, MMNA will require all
information collected: Vehicle Data Collection System (VDCS): ALL_DTC list, FFD_CVT data.
After submission of the required information, Replacement of Transaxle is required.

Note: CVT replacement claims will be subject to debit if all requested information is not submitted.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Remove the Automatic Transaxle
Flush all transmission fluid lines and the fluid cooler
Install the new Automatic Transaxle
Perform Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) initialization per TIN 17-23-001
Erase/reset oil degradation values
Update the TCM with the correct calibration for the replacement transmission
