CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
● P2787-00 Clutch 1 Temperature Too High.
● P28C7-00 Clutch A Motor Phase U-V-W Performance.
● P27F3-00 Clutch 2 Temperature Too High.
● P28D5-00 Clutch B Motor Phase U-V-W Circuit Performance.
Customers may experience the following:
● Transmission warning light on or odd gears unavailable or even gears unavailable or reverse gear
unavailable.

CAUSE:

Small particles inside the transmission can block one of the pumps in the actuator

REPAIR SUMMARY:
In case of a reported and ascertained fault, check and replace the worn/damaged components, if necessary,
according to the Operating Cycle below.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes any of the symptoms listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the
Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
IMPORTANT! Follow the procedure shown by the diagnosis equipment. The diagnosis made is sent to
the central servers only if it was made in Internet-connected mode, if the technician is
authorized to use the wizards, and if the diagnosis was made starting from the "SEARCH
PANELS" menu under "Diagnosis" or "Expert”. After the global test is completed, wait
for the Diagnosis item (initial screen with method selection by category) to start. Exit
the Diagnosis session by returning to the home screen. Confirm the message "Exit the
current session?”
1. Perform an error code reading:
2. In the presence of error code(s) P2787 and P28C7, the faulty component could be the odd speed clutch
actuator cylinder. Follow the instructions P2787 on eLearn. Carry out the repair according to the checks
made.
3. In the presence of error code(s) P27F3 and P28D5, the faulty component could be the even speed clutch
actuator cylinder. Follow the instructions P27F3 on eLearn. Carry out the repair according to the checks
made.
4. If the clutch cylinder activation procedure is unsuccessful, replace the concerned clutch actuator cylinder
motor.
