CRACKED INSIDE REAR COMBINATION LAMP ASSEMBLY
REPLACEMENT (LIMITED COVERAGE CAMPAIGN LA19)

 IMPORTANT
Dealers must perform this field action on all affected vehicles within 5/60,000 New Vehicle Limited
Warranty (NVLW) prior to customer retail delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop
for any maintenance or repair. See Warranty Information section for more details.
Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WebDCS to verify “Warranty Start Date” and ensure the
vehicle is within NVLW, observing mileage prior to any repair work.
Description: Certain Tucson (NX4A) vehicles have a crack on the left-hand side of the “inside rear
combination lamp assembly” due to interference with the tailgate panel. This bulletin provides
instructions to replace the “inside rear combination lamp assembly.”

NOTE 5: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.

Use plastic trim tools throughout the procedure to prevent damage to the vehicle trim and finish.

Disengage the 2 yellow clips from inside the
tailgate then remove the tailgate upper
garnish (I).

Remove the 7 nuts then remove the inside
rear combination lamp assembly (J).

NOTICE
Use caution when removing the lamp to
prevent damage to the vehicle.

11.

Install the new inside rear combination lamp
assembly by first clipping it into place, then
securing the 7 nuts.

12.

Reinstall all parts in the reverse order of the
removal process.

Using the STUI camera function, take a
photo of the new inside rear combination
lamp assembly installed on the vehicle.
Focus on the area where the crack on
the original part was located (LH side).
Upload the photo to STUI.
NOTE: If the STUI camera function is
NOT used, write the last 6 digits of the
VIN and date of repair on a piece of
paper to include in the photo.

14.

Reconnect the negative (–) battery terminal.

15.

Verify proper operation of the inside rear
combination lamp and power tailgate if
equipped.

16.

The service procedure is now complete.
