DEFECT DESCRIPTION:
Certain International® trucks and IC BusTM CE Series buses may have out of date BCM
programing that may cause erroneous fault codes after a vehicle sits for 2 or 3 days.
ELIGIBILITY:
This procedure applies ONLY to vehicles marked in the International® Service PortalSM
with FSC 26101. Also complete any other open campaigns listed on the Service Portal
at this time.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, park
vehicle on hard flat surface, turn the engine off, set the parking brake, and install
wheel chocks to prevent the vehicle from moving in both directions.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, if
the vehicle must be raised, do not work under the vehicle supported only by
jacks. Jacks can slip or fall over.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, always wear safe eye
protection when performing vehicle maintenance.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, keep
flames or sparks away from vehicle and do not smoke while servicing the
vehicle’s batteries. Batteries expel explosive gases.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury or death, NEVER service a high-voltage
vehicle without completing High-Voltage Safety Training. Before working on a
vehicle, read and obey all High-Voltage Safety and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures
and information.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury or death, wear and use approved highvoltage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when near a high-voltage electric
vehicle. Inspect PPE before use. Do not use gloves or other PPE with expired
dates, holes, cracks or damage. NEVER touch energized ORANGE high-voltage
cables or high-voltage components without wearing approved high-voltage PPE.
1. Park vehicle on flat, level surface.
2. Put drive mode selector in Park or Neutral and set parking brake.
3. Turn ignition to Key OFF position.
4. Install wheel chocks.
5. Connect battey charger / maintainer to vehicle battery.
NOTE: Headlights will turn on and off several times. Ensure that EZ-Tech® battery
has sufficient charge to last for entire procedure.

NOTE: Only use NEXIQ USB-Link™ interface cables. Other varieties of cables
may increase programming time or may be incompatible.
6. Using only NEXIQ USB-LinkTM interface cables, connect EZ-Tech or EST to vehicle
diagnostic port.
NOTE: Delete vehicle VIN from Diamond Logic® Builder (DLB) before proceeding.
Deleting vehicle VIN enables DLB to be populated with latest vehicle BCM data.
7. Turn vehicle ignition to Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO) position.
8. Launch DLB software and choose Select tab.
9. Select Connect icon to stop reading if DLB connected automatically to vehicle.
10. Delete vehicle VIN if it appears in list.

NOTE: If messages about programming of BCM are displayed before the Program
icon is selected, respond to the prompts as needed. No prompts requiring a
response will be displayed after the Program icon is selected.
11. Select Update All icon (Figure 1, Item 1) in toolbar. DLB will list latest module
versions in kernel column.
12. Select Program tab in toolbar to begin updates. DLB will indicate programming
status in status bar located at bottom of window.

13. Confirm that ESC module kernel (Figure 2, Item 1) has been updated to 755 or
above.
14. Turn vehicle ignition to Key OFF position.
15. Disconnect interface connector from vehicle diagnostic port.
16. Disconnect battery charger / maintainer from vehicle battery.
17. Remove wheel chocks.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

Warranty claim expense is to be charged to Warranty. Claims are to be submitted in the
normal manner, making reference to Field Service Campaign 26101.
Section 7 of the Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual contains further information
related to the submission and processing of AFC / Recall claims.
As with all claim submissions, items acquired locally must be submitted in the “Other
Charges” tab. The cost of any bulk items (such as a bag of cable tie straps, roll of wire,
barrel of oil, or tube of silicone) should be prorated for the cost of the individual pieces /
amount used during each repair.
To make sure this important improvement is made in a timely manner, all claims for
26101 activity must be submitted by 06 April 2026 or within the normal warranty period
for the component repaired, if after 06 April 2026.
