Sloshing noises can be heard inside the vehicle.
Workshop findings:
Water has accumulated in the door sill.

Technical Background
The door sills on the A8 are designed to remain completely dry. Any accumulation of water is not permitted and the
cause of this must be eliminated. Irregularities in the production process may result in weak points which increase
the likelihood of leaks in the door sills.
Three possible main contributing factors are currently known.

1. Jacking point: Please check ;
whether the seal around is free of
damage. This seal ensures that ,
openings in the vehicle body are

Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Dry the door sill and eliminate the cause of the issue independently.
Cut the PVC seal to enable a flat contact surface at the sealing surface of the clips and, if necessary, restore the
paintwork structure to avoid damage through to the base substrate.
Secure any clips which have not been attached and check that jacking points are leak tight.
When billing, please always attach photos/videos that clearly show the complaint to DOC-IT. To ensure a reference
to the vehicle, the image/video must:
+ Include the VIN and date.

+ Must not be edited.
+ Should be in focus and taken with sufficient light. A high resolution is not necessary.
If appropriate, please mark the location of the problem so that parts analysis has a clear reference to the complaint.
Please ensure that the photo documentation does not show any people and/or face, license plates, or customer
data.

Try to reproduce the customer complaint (based on the description/cause of the issue), so that it can be clearly
assigned to this TSB. The following repair must only be carried out if all the criteria (model/type, chassis number,
engine/motor, gearbox code, PR number(s), part number, software version, code, etc.) apply exactly. Otherwise, this
solution will not eliminate the problem and repeat repairs may be necessary. In such a case, the warranty claim may
be rejected, and the cost of the parts may be charged back.
