Issue: Some vehicles listed in the model statement above may require the replacement of the ambient air
temperature sensor for various concerns. DTCs P0071, P0072, and/or P0073 may be present in the PCM.
Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure to
replace the ambient air temperature sensor, wiring pigtail kit, and update the HVAC module if WSM, Pinpoint Test BB
or AZ for 2025 vehicles (The Outside Air Temperature Dsiplay Is Inoperative Or Incorrect) leads to the replacement of
the ambient air temperature sensor.

Service Procedure
1. Perform Pinpoint Test BB or AZ for 2025 vehicles (The Outside Air Temperature Display Is Inoperative Or
Incorrect) in WSM, Section 413-01 outside of this article. Did Pinpoint Test BB or AZ for 2025 vehicles result in the
replacement of the ambient air temperature sensor?
1. Yes - proceed to Step 2.

2. No - this article does not apply. Refer to normal diagnostics in WSM, Section 413-01.
2. Remove the left exterior mirror. Refer to WSM, Section 501-09 Rear View Mirrors > Removal and Installation >
Exterior Mirror.
3. Cut the ambient air temperature sensor wiring harness and connector directly behind the ambient air temperature
sensor mating connector. (Figure 1)

4. Cut the new ambient air temperature sensor wiring pigtail kit 1.57 in (40 mm) back from the connector. (Figure 2)

5. Splice the new ambient air temperature sensor wiring pigtail kit to the harness using the solder method. Refer to
the Wiring Diagram, Cell 005, Pages 5-6.
6. Using the procedure steps in WSM, Section 501-09 Rear View Mirrors > Removal and Installation > Exterior
Mirror, install the new exterior ambient air temperature sensor and reinstall the exterior mirror.
7. Reset the outside air temperature sensor learned values. Refer to WSM, Section 412-00 > General Procedures.
8. If equipped, align the 360° cameras. Refer to WSM, Section 413-13 > Parking Aid - Vehicles With: 360 Degree
Camera/Analog Rear View Camera > General Procedures.
9. Reprogram the HVAC module using the latest software level of the FDRS scan tool.
