Issue Summary
Symptom:
External Lubricating Oil Leak
Root Cause:
Lubricating oil leak from the lubricating oil pan gasket near the gear cover/flywheel housing of the engine as shown in Figure 1.

A lubricating oil leak path is created when the sealing bead of the lubricating oil pan gasket interferes with the main bearing cap clearance bores of the gear cover.
This condition is evidenced by witness marks as shown in Figure 2.

Verify lubricating oil leak from gear cover/flywheel housing end of lubricating oil pan gasket:

Verify edge-molded lubricating oil pan gasket is present:
Remove the lubricating oil pan. See B6.7 CM2450 B155B Service Manual, Bulletin Number 5613229. Refer to Procedure 007-025 in Section 7.

The edge-molded lubricating oil pan gasket, Part Number 5620687, is pictured in Figure 2.
If the edge-molded lubricating oil pan gasket, Part Number 5620687, is not present, replace with the appropriate lubricating oil pan gasket. See B6.7 CM2450 B155B

Resolution
Verify the following surfaces are free from debris and oil.
Lubricating oil pan gasket surface
Cylinder block surface including the gear housing oil pan gasket surface
Front seal retained surface
Apply RTV sealant, Part Number 3164067, to the gear cover/flywheel housing side of the lubricating oil pan gasket at the locations indicated in Figure 3.

Install the lubricating oil pan:

Perform verification:
If the lubricating oil leak is not resolved:
Install a new lubricating oil pan gasket. See B6.7 CM2450 B155B Service Manual, Bulletin Number 5613229. Refer to Procedure 007-025 in Section 7.

Apply RTV sealant, Part Number 3164067, as directed in Figure 3.
Perform Verification
If the lubricating oil leak is not resolved:
Confirm the existing installed rear gear housing is one of the part numbers listed in Table 1.
Clean and inspect lubricating oil pan gasket for reuse:

Replace the rear gear housing. See B6.7 CM2450 B155B Service Manual, Bulletin Number 5613229. Refer to Procedure 001-034 in Section 1.
Refer to Table 1 to select the replacement rear gear housing.
Install the lubricating oil pan:

Perform verification:
If the lubricating oil leak is not resolved:
