There is a possibility that not enough corrosion protection wax was applied on the affected vehicles.
If this is the case, corrosion can occur on the lower door fold over the service life, depending on weather
conditions.

Applying corrosion protection to the door
Information
The procedure described below must be carried out for the affected door in the entire lower fold area.
The illustrations shown refer to the work on the left side of the vehicle in the direction of travel. The work on
all other affected doors must be carried out in the same way.

Apply corrosion protection to the door.
1.1

Before applying the corrosion protection wax in the inner door, the door window must be fully
closed. This prevents spray mist from settling as a film on the glass.

1.2

Insert spray pipe as far as possible into the door through the openings (drain holes) at the
Þ Apply corrosion protection wax -Arrow-. The door seal does not need to
bottom of the door⇒

Apply corrosion protection wax
1.3

Operate spray can and pull the spray tube slowly and evenly out of the door while spraying.
Repeat spraying process at least twice until a homogeneous wax coating in the bottom area of
the door is guaranteed and emerges from the three openings.

1.4

Remove any excess or dripping corrosion protection wax completely using a grease-free and
lint-free cloth.
