Condition

Some customers may comment on any of the following conditions: ABS MIL, SES MIL,
Service Brake System message, Service StabiliTrak, or a change in the brake pedal
effort and when checking for DTCs a P0606 and P0562 will be set in the K160 BSCM.

Cause

K160 BSCM anomaly that is more prevalent with a lower battery state of charge.

Correction
If after following normal SI diagnostics and a root cause is not found, then perform the following inspections:
FOR 2023 and 2024 MODELS ONLY:
Updated K160 BSCM calibrations have been released. Reprogram the K160 BSCM with the latest calibrations in
TLC/SPS.
FOR 2021 and 2022 MODELS ONLY:
1. Inspect the battery, battery cables, Engine harness junction/fuse block (X50A) and battery fuse block (X50B)
connections to make sure they are all clean and tight.
2. Inspect the K160 BSCM's power and ground terminals for poor tension, crimps or backing out. Also, inspect the
actually ground and fuse connections for any loose or corroded connections.
3. Inspect the charging system for proper operation.
4. Inspect for any type of aftermarket equipment that could draw down the battery (dash cameras, cell phone
chargers, etc.).
5. Inspect for any parasitic draws on the battery by performing a Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test.
6. If applicable, perform bulletin 24-NA-039 Dead Battery and / or Unwanted Liftgate Opening (Reprogram K9
BCM).
7. Test the battery using the DCA and charge or replace as necessary.
Note: Testing the battery at the ambient temperatures the issue occurs could help identify any battery related issues.
