SYMPTOM:
Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC):
● P0115-00 - Engine Coolant Temperature Plausibility Check.
Customers may also experience the following:
● Engine overheating warning lamp indicator is illuminated on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
CAUSE:
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is not properly soldered
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 26-049,
date of issue March 18, 2026. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8F - Engine Systems / Battery System / Tray, Battery /
Removal.
-32. Remove the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) pressure sensor bolt Fig. 1.

3. Position aside the DPF pressure sensor.
4. Disconnect the ECT sensor wire harness connector Fig. 2.

5. Remove the ECT sensor Fig. 2.
6. Inspect the ECT sensor batch code located on the brass nut Fig. 3.

7. Does the batch code on the brass ETC sensor matching any of the following batch code numbers listed
below?
● 25W10
● 25W36
● 25W37
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 8.
● NO>>> This bulletin has been completed. Use Inspection LOP (08-14-20-9A) to close the active RSU
and proceed to Step 9
8. Obtain a NEW ECT sensor.
9. Install the ECT sensor and tighten the ECT sensor bolt to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).
10. Install the DPF pressure sensor and tighten the sensor bolt to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.) Fig. 4.

11. Install the battery tray. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service

12. If necessary, top off the cooling system.
13. Clear DTCs.
