Description: Some GV70 (JK1A) vehicles equipped with 2.5T engines may display a check engine
light with DTC P04F000 (EVAP System High Load Purge Line 'A' Performance) due to debris inside the
dual purge ejector assembly and/or intercooler outlet hose. This bulletin provides instructions to perform
a DTC check, and if necessary, replace the dual purge ejector assembly and intercooler outlet hose.

This TSB includes repair justification in the form of automatically uploaded DTC(s) via GDS eReport at the time of diagnosis. To ensure adherence to the Digital Documentation Policy
before claim submission, DTC history can be reviewed via the e-Report function within the
GDS.

NOTICE
Applying the recommended torque to all fasteners is essential to reduce potential issues from
occurring after the service procedure.

Information

Before beginning the service procedure, review TSB 24-EC-001G EVAP Dual Purge Ejector
Assembly Information (or the most current version) for a complete understanding of the Dual
Purge system.
Use the diagnostic examples in 24-EC-001G to troubleshoot any other potential causes of DTC
P04F000.
1.

Use GDS to perform Fault Code Searching to
scan for DTC P04F000:
•

NOT STORED: Proceed with the
normal diagnostic process. The service
procedure is now complete.

•

STORED: Proceed to step 2.

Disconnect the negative (–) battery terminal.

3.

Remove the air cleaner assembly by referring
to the shop manual:
• Engine Mechanical System > Intake
And Exhaust System > Air Cleaner >
Removal and Installation

Remove the mounting bolt then remove the
dual purge ejector assembly (B) by referring to
the shop manual:
• Emission Control System >
Evaporative Emission Control
System > Dual Purge Ejector
Assembly > Removal and Installation

Disconnect the quick connector (C) then
remove the intercooler outlet hose (D).

Information

Pull the quick connector clamp in the
direction and order of the arrows.

Use compressed air to clean out all
contaminants from the super charging tube –
dual purge (E).

7.

Install the new intercooler outlet hose and dual
purge ejector assembly.

8.

Reinstall parts in the reverse order of the
removal process.

9.

Use GDS to erase the DTC history then
perform Fault Code Searching to confirm that
DTC P04F000 is NOT stored.

10.

The service procedure is now complete.
