DESCRIPTION
This tool is designed to compare Diamond Logic feature data across multiple vehicle configuration files
(.ivd and .iva). It allows users to quickly load files either manually or directly from the Diamond Logic
Builder Vehicles folder using VIN-based selection. As files are added or removed, the comparison runs
automatically with no manual action required.
The program presents results in an interactive table that shows feature codes, descriptions, access
levels, and whether each feature is present in each selected file. Built-in search, filtering, and sorting
make it easy to locate specific features or focus only on differences between files. Column visibility can
be customized to show or hide descriptions and access information as needed.
Users can remove files individually or clear all files at once, with results updating instantly. The tool also
includes reporting and export options that reflect exactly what is visible on screen, allowing results to
be printed, copied, saved as text, or exported to CSV for use in Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
Overall, the program streamlines the process of comparing vehicle feature configurations, helping
users quickly identify differences, validate setups, and document results without manual comparison or
external tools.

HOW TO USE
First, download the DLB Compare Tool and extract the files to a folder, such as your desktop.
Once extracted, follow the steps below to begin using the tool.

1. Add Files to Compare
You can add files using either
method below. The first method
pulls vehicle files directly from
DLB’s configured vehicle
directory and loads the most
recent files. VINs added in DLB
using Get From History will
appear in the tool immediately
after clicking Add DLB VIN. The
second method allows you to
manually add files that are not
located in the vehicle directory.
Option A: Add DLB VIN
1. Click Add DLB VIN.
2. If prompted, set the
Diamond Logic Builder
Vehicles folder.
3. In the Select VIN Files
window, choose one or
more VINs.
4. Click Add Selected.
5. The selected VIN files are
added to the comparison.
Option B: Browse Files
1. Click Browse Files.
2. Select one or more .ivd or
.iva files.
Hold Ctrl (or Cmd) to
select multiple files.
3. Click Open.
4. The selected files appear
in the Selected Files list.

The tool defaults to the vehicle
directory:
C:\Users\
<username>\Diamond Logic
Builder\Vehicles.
To change this, click Select
Vehicle Directory in the Select
VIN Files window.
To locate your DLB vehicle
directory, open DLB and
navigate to File > Set Vehicle
Directory, then note the folder
location.
Note: VINs loaded into DLB by
connecting directly to a vehicle
are not supported by this tool. If
you receive an error when
loading a VIN, use Get From
History in DLB to retrieve the
VIN from the server, then reload
it in the compare tool.

2. Review Comparison
Results
1. View results in the table
below the Selected Files
list.

column. Scroll left or
right to view
additional VINs.

By default, the tool displays all
enabled features for all added
VINs. To view only the
differences, select Show
Differences Only in the top-right
of the main window. This option
is unchecked by default.

3. Filter and Search
Features
1. Use the Search box to find
specific features.
Searches Feature
Code and
Description.
Supports partial and
comma-separated
searches.
2. Enable Show Differences
Only to display only
features that differ between
files.
Requires two or more
files.
This allows you to filter results
while still comparing multiple
features. For example, to view
both lighting and wiper-related
features, enter wiper, light.
The tool will display all feature
codes with Wiper or Light in the
description.
This is also useful when a
customer provides a list of
features to be added. Enter the
features separated by commas
to quickly view and confirm the
applicable feature codes.

4. Print or Export Results
When you click Print Report,
the tool opens a new report
window that displays exactly
what is currently shown in the
Comparison Results box.
This report is fully editable within
the report window, allowing you
to make manual changes such
as adjusting formatting,
removing specific lines, or
adding notes before copying,
saving, or exporting.
You can export the report using
one of three options: Copy to
Clipboard, Save to TXT File, or
Export to CSV.
Copy to Clipboard is useful
for pasting directly into a
case note.
TXT file option is ideal for
sharing with other users or
uploading to a case.
CSV option is helpful for
saving customer records or
tracking feature changes
over time.

ADDITIONAL INFO
You can sort and customize the comparison results by clicking any column header in the
results table. Clicking a column header once sorts the results in ascending order, clicking it
again reverses the sort order, and clicking it a third time clears the sorting and returns the
table to its default view. You can also control which information is displayed by using the
Show Description and Show Access checkboxes. If a file name in the column header is
truncated, hover over it to view the full file name.
Files can be removed from the comparison at any time. To remove a single file, right-click
the file in the Selected Files list or right-click its corresponding column header in the results
table, then select Remove. To remove all files at once, click Clear All. This action resets the
comparison and clears the results table.
Status information is displayed in the Status Bar at the bottom of the window. The status
bar shows the total number of features, the number of features currently displayed, the

number of differences detected, and any status or error messages related to the
comparison.
Be aware that the tool pulls all files from your DLB vehicle directory. To make it easier to
locate the VINs you want to compare, consider removing unneeded VINs if your folder
contains a large number of files. In DLB, you can do this by highlighting one or more VINs,
right-clicking, and selecting Delete. This is a common practice and can also improve DLB
performance.
