Charge the vehicle electrical system battery ⇒ Workshop Manual 'Charging 12-volt lithium-ion vehicle
electrical system battery'.

Remove front axle brake calliper ⇒ Workshop Manual 'Removing and installing the front brake calliper'.

Replace brake line section (brake calliper to connection point) on the left and right.
Attention, all brake hoses are present in the set, observe part number according to derivative:

(footwell on driver side). Install steering wheel blocking mass as shown. Pay attention to the groove at
the top and bottom. Steering wheel blocking mass must not be tilted.

14 Code the vehicle.
The PIWIS Tester 4 cable MUST be connected to the vehicle for programming.

Select Additional menu by pressing •F7“. The question “Create vehicle analysis log
(VAL)?” appears. Press •F11“ to confirm.

Select the Maintenance of vehicle data function. Press •F12“ until PR numbers
appear in the Value group column.

Select Front brake version in the Family column. Touching the cell behind Front brake
version opens the drop-down menu.
Select 1LQ.
Press •F12“ to change values.

Select Rear brake version in the Family column. Touching the cell behind Rear brake
version opens the drop-down menu.
Select 2EC.
Press •F12“ to change values.

Press •F11“ to switch to the control unit overview.

Adapt coding.

Select all control units by pressing •Ctrl A“. Press •F12“ to continue.

Switch to the Coding/programming menu. Press •F12“ to continue.
Select Automatic coding mode. Press •F12“ to continue.

Disconnect the battery charger.
Replace 8 disc brake pads and 4 brake discs (front and rear); replace 4 brake
callipers

Raise the vehicle, remove and install the wheels and bleed the
brake system.
