IF YOU CONFIRM
The efficiency display in the meter appears to be lower than what would be expected for
the mileage that was driven, but the vehicle’s actual driving range, or distance driven, is
correct for the initial state of charge,
AND
CONSULT 4 (C4) indicates that a “Part number after reprogramming” is available for the
A/C auto amp.

ACTION
1.

Confirm that the “Current part number” for the A/C auto amp displayed in C4 is in
Table A.

2.

If applicable, reprogram the A/C auto amp.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.

Hold the start button for 3 seconds without a foot on the brake pedal to turn the
vehicle ON. Not Ready mode.
HINT: This will disable DC to DC charging, allow voltage to stabilize and the
reprogram to be completed with battery charger on vehicle.

2.

Using CONSULT, confirm the Current A/C auto amp part number and write it on the
repair order.

If it matches one of the part numbers in Table A, continue to step 2 below.

•

If it does not match one of the part numbers in Table A, this bulletin does not
apply. Go back to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information.

If you are not familiar with the CONSULT Reprogramming procedure, refer to the
CONSULT Operation Manual and the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for steps to
reprogram an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Follow all precautions in both manuals to
prevent possible personal injury or death and/or damage to the ECU.

3.

Reprogram the A/C auto amp.
IMPORTANT: When using CONSULT 4, follow the “Vehicle Menu” and select the
Vehicle reprogramming option under “Tool Menu” to reprogram the A/C auto amp.

4.

After erasing all DTCs, print a copy of the CONSULT screen showing the before
and after part numbers of the control unit and attach it to the repair order.
