Condition
The customer states the rear lid does not fully close or does not open. In these cases, the rear lid can remain closed,
remain slightly open, or begin to reopen while emitting a warning sound even if there is no obstruction.

Technical Background
The condition described above can occur if the opening lever spring in the latch is not seated properly. This may
result in the latch remaining in the locked position, which could prevent latching at the striker.

Service Information
In these cases, check the latch for the rear lid for a production date on or after October 19th, 2024. If the part has a
production date before this date, order a new latch. Once the part is received and the production date is verified,
replace the latch for the rear lid.
