Description:
Vehicles were assembled with incorrect front-engine accessory drive (FEAD) components.
Concern:
Incorrect FEAD components can lead to premature failure of the accessory belts.
Action:
Use the instructions in this document to install the correct FEAD components.

Repair Procedure
1. Park the vehicle on level surface.
2. Apply parking brake.
3. Place the transmission in park or neutral.
4. Turn off ignition.
5. Install wheel chocks.

6. Follow Impact Operation 2634-03-02-01 Fan Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement. Pause once the
fan drive belt and tensioner is removed. Discard removed tensioner and belt.
7. Follow Impact Operation 3211-03-02-01 Alternator Replacement. Pause once the alternator
belt and alternator are removed. Discard belt, Retain the alternator and mounting hardware
for reinstallation.
8. Remove and discard the alternator belt tensioner (Retain Mounting Bolt).

9. Remove and discard the alternator mounting bracket (Retain alternator bracket mounting
hardware).
10. Close the shut-off on the coolant filter housing.

11. Remove the coolant filter. Retain for reinstallation.

12. Remove screws (Retain hardware).
13. Remove and discard the bracket and idler pulley.

14. Install new bracket (PN-24170327).
15. Installed and torque retained screws.
Tightening torque
Idler Pulley Bracket, screws

60 ±10 Nm (44 ±7 lbf⋅ft)

16. Install and torque the new Idler pulley (PN-24390274).
Tightening torque
Idler Pulley, screw

50 ±5 Nm (37 ±4 lbf⋅ft)

17. Install and torque the new alternator bracket (PN-24147478) use retained hardware.
Tightening torque
60 ±10 Nm (44 ±7 lbf⋅ft)

18. Install and torque the new alternator belt tensioner (PN-24377136) (Use retained mounting
hardware).
Tightening torque
Belt tensioner, screw

48 ±8 Nm (35 ±6 lbf⋅ft)

19. Resume Impact Operation 3211-03-02-01 Alternator Replacement to install the retained
alternator and new alternator belt (PN-24428844).
20. Resume Impact Operation 2634-03-02-01 Fan Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement to install the
new fan drive belt tensioner (PN-24389899) using new hardware (PN-60112984) and belt (PN24171422).

21. Install retained coolant filter.

22. Open the shut-off on the coolant filter housing.
