SERVICE ACTION: FRONT PASSENGER WALK-IN SEAT
SWITCH INSPECTION, REPAIR & REPLACEMENT (SA636)

This bulletin provides information to inspect the front passenger walk-in seat switch on certain 2025–2026MY
EV9 (MV1a) vehicles produced from May 16, 2024 through August 21, 2025. On some vehicles, the switch may
not be mounted flush to the backrest cushion. This condition does not affect the functionality of the switch
and is a cosmetic issue only. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to inspect the front passenger
walk-in seat switch for a non-flush condition and, if necessary, trim the backrest seat cushion excess foam
around the walk-in switch mounting area and replace the switch with a new part. Before conducting the
procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.

 NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the
warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will
require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on KDealer+ (Service → Warranty Coverage → Warranty
Coverage Inquiry → Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service Action reports are
available on KDealer+ (Consumer Affairs → Not Completed Recall → Recall VIN → Select Report),
which includes a list of affected vehicles.

SUBJECT:

SWITCH INSPECTION, REPAIR & REPLACEMENT (SA636)
Inspection Procedure:
1.

Locate front passenger seat walk-in switch (A).

2.

Use your fingers to gently pry around the
edges of the front passenger seat walk-in
switch (A) to check if it is loose. Inspect for any
gaps that may indicate it is not fully seated.

•

If the front passenger seat walk-in
switch (A) is properly secured (OK),
then no futher action required. Claim
the inspection only op code 250A48I0.

•

If the front passenger seat walk-in
switch (A) is loose or pops out (NG),
replace the front passenger seat walkin switch (A) and proceed to the ‘Repair
Procedure’ on page 3.

Repair Procedure:
1.

Remove the front passenger seat walk-in
switch (A).

2.

Using SST with the included 10mm barrel
sanding bit, set the rotary tool to low speed,
carefully grind away the exposed seat foam (B)
until it is flush with the plastic seat switch
bracket.

Tuck the wire harness into the seat
back

prevent

Install the new front passenger seat walk-in
switch (A).

4.

Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order of removal.
