SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wiring harness
on about 3,600 of the above vehicles may be
misrouted and exposed to an abrasion condition. This
condition can damage the wiring harness.

This campaign applies only to the above vehicles
equipped with a 2.9L engine.

NOTE: Some vehicles above may have been
identified as not involved in this campaign and
therefore have been excluded from this campaign.

PARTS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT: Some of the involved vehicles may
be in dealer new vehicle inventory. Dealers should
complete this campaign service on these vehicles
before retail delivery. Dealers should also perform
this repair on vehicles in used vehicle inventory and
those vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be
determined by using the VIP inquiry process.

REPAIR TO BE PERFORMED
Inspect the PCM wiring harness and reposition the
PCM wiring harness if required by following the
directions outlined in the Service Procedure below.

Vehicle Lists, Global Recall System, VIP
and Dealer Follow Up
All involved vehicles have been entered into the
DealerCONNECT Global Recall System (GRS) and
Vehicle Information Plus (VIP) for dealer inquiry as
needed.
GRS provides involved dealers with an updated VIN
list of their incomplete vehicles. The owner’s name,
address and phone number are listed if known.
Completed vehicles are removed from GRS within
several days of repair claim submission.
To use this system, click on the “Service” tab and
then click on “Global Recall System.” Your dealer’s
VIN list for each campaign displayed can be sorted by:
those vehicles that were unsold at campaign launch,
those with a phone number, city, zip code, or VIN
sequence.

Dealers should perform this repair on all unsold
vehicles before retail delivery. Dealers should also
use the VIN list to follow up with all owners to schedule
appointments for this repair.
VIN lists may contain confidential, restricted owner
name and address information that was obtained from
the Department of Motor Vehicles of various states.
Use of this information is permitted for this notification
only and is strictly prohibited from all other use.

1. Open the trunk, remove the right-side battery
storage cover. (Figure 1)

Disconnect the negative battery cable (Figure 2).

3. Grasp the engine cover to disengage the retaining pins and remove the engine cover (Figure 3).

4. Disengage the retaining pins and remove the middle air
intake tubes to air cleaner body.

5. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the right and left air inlet tube from the air cleaner body (Figure 5).

6. Disengage the retaining pins and remove the
air cleaner body (Figure 5).

7. Open the retaining clip and move the hose to gain access to the PCM electrical connectors (Figure 7).

8. Disconnect both PCM electrical connectors
from the PCM (Figure 8).

9. Measure 80mm away from the PCM electrical connector (Figure 9).

Install the retaining clip at the 80mm mark (Figure 10).

11.

Reconnect the bottom PCM electrical connector to the PCM module (Figure 11).

12.

Attach the retaining clip to the bulkhead threaded stud (Figure 11).

13.

Reconnect the upper PCM electrical
connector to the PCM module.

14.

Attache the hose to the retaining clip
(Figure 7).

15.

Alight the air box near the rubber
grommets, attach the tube to the back of
the air box clips.

16.

Push the air cleaner box onto the rubber
grommets firmly assuring fully seated.

17.

Connect the right and left air inlet tube to
the air cleaner body and secure the
clamps.

Engage the wiring harness and secure
the retaining clip.

19.

Install the middle air cleaner tube.

20.

Install the engine cover.

21.

Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery.

22.

Reinstall the battery storage cover.

23.

Return the vehicle to the customer.

FCA will repair your vehicle [2] free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer
will inspect the wiring routing and if required reposition the wiring harness and install a
retaining clip. The estimated repair time is about 1 hour. In addition, your dealer will require
your vehicle for proper check-in, preparation, and check-out during your visit, which require
more time. Your time is important to us, so we recommend that you schedule a service
appointment to minimize your inconvenience. Please bring this letter with you to your
dealership.
