and integral carrier, which might result in noise complaints.
MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the area
Remedy around the integral carrier and torsion bar on the front axle in the affected vehicles, and rework it as
needed.

CHECK AREA AROUND INTEGRAL CARRIER AND FRONT AXLE TORSION BAR

Check/Test Procedure
1. Remove center and rear engine compartment lining (AR61.20-P-1105WT).
2. Check area between torsion bar and integral carrier for presence of loose or jammed screw (Figure 1, A).
Use mirror and flashlight to inspect area (Figure 1) between torsion bar and integral carrier.
The screw connections in the front axle and torsion bar area are OK.
The loose screw may not have a specific function and should therefore be scrapped.

Work Procedure
1. Loose screw is present: Remove screw.
2. Jammed screw is present: Loosen torsion bar on front axle far enough on one side until screw can be removed.
Vehicles without code M005: Basic data AR32.35-P-2200WT
Vehicles with code M005: Basic data AR32.35-P-2200WTA
The loose or jammed screw is not required and should be scrapped!
Check the contact area of the removed screw for any surface damage (Figure 2, B) and if necessary, rework with a
touch-up paint pen.
