Workshop findings:
The following event memory entry (static/intermittent) is logged in the gearbox electronics control unit (diagnostic
address 0002):
* P071100: “Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance” with symptom 20756
and subsequent entry
* P270800: “Solenoid Valve 6 is sticking on” with symptom 20859
* The customer only complained about a warning lamp lighting up.

symptom 20756 - diagnostic address 0002.
Please check whether TSB 2079690, 00 Combined software update 03.10.00/C (28.13.01) KD2 is visible for this
vehicle. If this is the case, please perform the software update described in TSB 2079690.
Note:
Try to reproduce the customer complaint (based on the description/cause of the issue), so that it can be clearly
assigned to this TSB. The following repair must only be carried out if all the criteria (model/type, chassis number,
engine/motor and gearbox code, PR number(s), part number, software version, code etc.) apply exactly. Otherwise,
this solution will not eliminate the problem and repeat repairs may be necessary. In such a case, we may reject the
warranty claim.

When performing the combined software update, time stamps are not required for billing under warranty. You are
therefore permitted to work on other vehicles at the same time. The combined software update can also be
performed by non-productive personnel.
Additional Information
The engine control unit software must be updated on this vehicle. Inform the customer about the software update
and ask them whether the engine control unit has been altered by chip tuning. Explain to the customer that updating
the engine control unit software renders the chip tuning ineffective. In certain circumstances, the engine control unit
may even be damaged by the software update. Ask the customer to clarify with the tuning company in advance
whether a software update is possible. Damage to the engine control unit resulting from chip tuning cannot be billed
to AUDI
AG under warranty. Please refer the customer to the Warranty and Maintenance booklet to learn more
about how chip tuning can impact warranty coverage. Explain to the customer that neither AUDI
AG nor your
company can be held responsible for damage caused by the software update or for damage that occurs as the
result of not having the update performed. Make a note to this effect on the order before it is signed by the customer.
Include this information in the customer file.
