Notes on Remote Software Upgrade

This Remote Software Upgrade updates existing functions to the latest

technical standards. New features depend on your installed equipment, which

you can review in your BMW Owner's Manual, at your service center, or

through BMW ConnectedDrive Customer Relations.

The update automatically refreshes installed BMW ConnectedDrive apps and

the Integrated Owner's Manual. Be aware that control messages may appear

due to system restarts, such as powertrain malfunctions. If these messages

persist on subsequent trips, contact your service center.

For BMW Plug-in Hybrids and electric vehicles, charging processes might be

interrupted and not automatically resumed if you update while charging.

Note that unapproved conversions, retrofits, engine tuning, or special coding

may be lost or cause issues due to the upgrade. BMW of North America, LLC

and service centers are not liable for any resulting damage. After installation,

privacy settings may revert to factory defaults, so check and adjust them as

needed. Remember, driver assistance systems do not replace your

responsibility while driving.

Feature Upgrade: Automatic Start/Stop Function

You can now activate or deactivate the

Automatic Start/Stop function even

quicker. Simply hold down the direct

access button for the driving settings in

the center console or say “Hey BMW,

deactivate engine start/stop”. A pop-up on

the control display confirms the

successful action. The Automatic

Start/Stop function is deactivated until the next engine start.
Feature Upgrade: NACS Charging Station Support

This upgrade enables your BMW to

charge at stations equipped with the

North American Charging Standard

(NACS). This means access to any

networks which use this standard,

including Tesla Superchargers. To use

NACS chargers, an additional adapter is

required. Check your My BMW app

Message Center for updates once BMW approved adapters are available.
Feature Upgrade: Charging Stations POI Filter

You can now filter charging stations in

your BMW navigation by nearby

locations such as cafés, restaurants, or

supermarkets. Simply open “Filter

options” at the top right of the search

and select the new “Nearby” filter to set

your preferences. Your BMW will then

display matching charging stations. The

filter resets automatically for your next search.

Feature Upgrade: Vehicle Apps

The “Vehicle” tab in the “All Apps” menu

on your BMW control display is now

more clearly structured. It focuses on

key settings such as lights, climate

control, doors, and windows. All other

functions remain available under “All

Apps.
Feature Upgrade: Smart Opener

After this update, your BMW will

respond more precisely to your foot kick

under the cargo area and open the

tailgate even more reliably. Simply move

your foot dynamically back and forth at

the center of the bumper, then place it

back down. Your BMW flashes to

confirm, and the tailgate opens

automatically. The Kick-to-Open feature works when your Digital Key or

vehicle key is with you.
Feature Upgrade: IPA with Two New Voices

Your BMW now features a new female

and male voice for the Intelligent

Personal Assistant. Select your

preferred voice in the Personal Assistant

menu, and enjoy faster, more accurate

responses to “Hey BMW.” Press the

microphone button or use the Personal

Assistant menu to start the one-time

setup. A required language package will download automatically after the

update.

Feature Upgrade: IPA Female Voice By Default

Following feedback from the BMW

community, the Intelligent Personal

Assistant will now default to the female

voice after this update. If you previously

selected the male voice, it will switch

automatically. Both male and female

voices remain available and can be

changed anytime in the BMW Intelligent

Personal Assistant app. A required language package will download

automatically shortly after the update.
Quality Improvement: General quality and error correction

This software update brings your BMW up to date, rectifies errors and prevents security

gaps, for an improved driving experience. This update is recommended for everyone.
