1. Overview
Through continuous product quality monitoring, McLaren Automotive has identified that certain McLaren Artura
vehicles may have been filled with an incorrect amount of transmission oil during service or repair.
McLaren Automotive is instructing Retailers to check the transmission oil level, fill if needed and report the results of
the vehicles within the supplied VIN range.

2. Procedure
Care Point: Only technicians who have completed the McLaren Artura Training are allowed to work on the
vehicle.

Care Point: Ensure that all tooling used is clean prior to usage on the vehicle and remains clean from
contaminants throughout the procedure.

Care Point: Always use the correct McLaren supplied transmission oil, FUCHS BLUEV DHTF9 - Transmission Oil.

Care Point: The work required for the Service Campaign is only to be completed during a service visit.

Care Point: Ensure the HYCU is on the latest software version (16GA222CP.31 or higher).

Care Point: It is no longer required to top up the transmission with an additional 700ml of oil.

Care Point: Ensure MDS 2 is on version 1.24.0.0004 (or higher), before starting the Transmission Oil Level
Procedure.
To carry out the required check for the Service Campaign, follow the work instruction in the McLaren Service Portal
(MSP) HA-RM-07G001-00-002 for ‘Check Transmission Oil Level’.
3. Warranty Information
Submit a claim to the McLaren Warranty department following completion of the work, using the details below.

McLaren Artura - Transmission Oil Level Check

2.30 Hours

Claim for the quantity, in Litres (L), of new transmission oil used to re-fill the transmission, as per normal claim
procedures, in the ‘Other’ cost section of the claim for ‘Oils/Fluids’.
The expected additional re-fill quantity is 1 litre or less of transmission oil. In an instance where more than 1 litre is
required, the claimed amount will be reviewed accordingly.
The below information displays how the re-filled transmission oil would be claimed in the ‘Other’ cost section of the
warranty claim. Note that the cost will vary by region.

4. Affected Vehicles
Affected vehicles will be flagged in the Retailer Portal when next opening a Workshop Visit related to the vehicle.
Your Regional Aftersales Manager will also contact you with a VIN list of affected vehicles.
