Complaints Regarding Shifting Quality on Double-Clutch Transmissions in Conjunction with Message
"Transmission Faulty" (SY 88/25)

Concerns:

Double clutch transmission

Symptom:

The customer complains about juddering when driving off or driving under light load, usually in conjunction
with the message "Transmission faulty" in the instrument cluster.
Information
There are no external leaks/leakages detected on the transmission.

Cause:

During vehicle operation, internal leakage in the double-clutch transmission can lead to oil transfer from
the hydraulic room (ATF/hydraulic oil) into the gearset room. As a result, the insufficient ATF/hydraulic oil
quantity leads to oil pressure deviations and thus to different functional and comfort faults.

Remedial
Action:

If the customer complaint can be traced and no external leak can be detected on the transmission, check
the fill level of the ATF oil and then the fill level of the final drive oil (transmission oil) if necessary.
Information
All test steps must be documented with clearly recognisable images and/or videos (oil quantity display) as
well as the respective labelling and uploaded to the PCSS quality line.
