Introduction

Some 2024 – 2025 model year Sienna Hybrid and Sienna Hybrid MaaS Package vehicles may
exhibit a condition in which the rear No. 1 seat assembly (for captain seat type) squeaks or rattles
while driving. The condition(s) can occur on both the driver and passenger side seats of the
vehicle. Application of noise reducing felt has been developed to improve and reduce these
conditions. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

1. Confirm the condition.
Does the vehicle exhibit a condition in which the rear No. 1 seat assembly(s) are producing a
squeak or rattle noise while driving?


YES — Continue to step 2.



NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
NOTE
The noise addressed in this bulletin can be recreated by driving over bumps, normal road conditions,
or shifting weight in the seat(s).

2. Remove the affected rear No.1 seat assembly(s).

4. Remove a 2 mm thick felt from the interior
noise kit and cut four squares from it with
the following dimensions: 3 cm x 3 cm, as
shown in Figure 3.

HINT
The remaining part of the felt sheet can be
saved for future repairs.

5. Take one square of felt, bend the opposite
corner of the felt to create a triangle shape
as shown in Figure 4.

6. Measure along the folded piece of the felt
and mark the dotted lines according to the
dimensions shown in Figure 5.

7. Cut along the lines drawn in step 6 to
create a square hole in the felt piece as
shown in Figure 6.

8. Repeat steps 5 – 7 for the remaining felt
squares that were cut out.

9. Remove the cut portion from the felt
squares and discard.

10. Remove one Torx® bolt from the affected
rear No. 1 seat assembly(s). Clean the
highlighted area with alcohol and a cloth
and allow it to dry for 20 seconds.

11. Remove the adhesive backing from one
piece of felt and apply it to seat frame as
shown in Figure 8.

12. Reinstall Torx® bolt but do NOT fully torque the
bolt down to the specification listed in Repair
Manual at this time. See Figure 9.

13. Repeat steps 10 – 12 for felt application of
the next three bolts locations.

14. After all four bolts have been reinstalled, torque down the bolts to specification.
