Customer states:

The customer statement depends on the type of engine:

Vehicles with 2.0 ltr. gasoline engine:
* The engine does not start at the first atternpt.
* Several driver messages appear in the instrument cluster.

* — After switching the ignition off and on, the engine starts again and there are no further issues.

All other engines:
* Several driver messages appear in the instrument cluster after starting the vehicle.
« The vehicle can only be driven electrically; the engine does not start.

* — After switching the ignition off and on, the engine starts again and there are no further issues.

Workshop findings:
The customer complaint cannot usually be reproduced.

The following DTC is logged in the Engine Electronics -J623-, (address word: 0001):
* 157000: “Engine Control Module (ECM) locked.”

Technical Background
Software issue the in onboard supply control unit J519 (diagnostic address 0009).

Production Solution
Production change in 4 of 2025.

Service
This TSB only applies if:
1. The DTC "P157000 Engine Control Module (ECM) locked” is logged in the engine control module
(diagnostic address 0001).

2. The DTC "Transmission control module locked” is NOT logged in the transmission control module
(diagnostic address 0002).

Please check whether TSB 2079690, 00 Combined software update 03.10.00/C (28.13.01) KD2 is visible for this
vehicle. If this is the case, please perform the software update described in TSB 2079690.

When performing the combined software update, time stamps are not required for billing under warranty. You are
therefore permitted to work on other vehicles at the same time. The combined software update can also be
performed by non-productive personnel.
