This bulletin outlines Rapid Update 797 for Maserati GranCabrio vehicles. The update includes
multiple service actions to improve the performance, synchronization, and perceived quality of
the convertible soft top system. Each VIN listed in the annex requires specific tasks, which are
automatically identified in Modis.
VEHICLES INVOLVED: GranCabrio (M190) MY24 MY25
We remind you that all the Rapid Updates must be performed within the first workshop visit,
regardless of the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.
Also, for vehicles in Stock Dealer / PDI, it is necessary to carry out all action operations before
delivery to the end customer, as required by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Predelivery checklist.

Modis Case Label

When the SE is opened and the claim for the campaign is created, Modis will automatically recognize the
combination of activities assigned to the VIN, automatically proposing the right case choice. Only one case is
suggested, avoiding any error.

797 1 Multiple HW Check

TIP: It is advisable to open the claim in temporary status, simply confirming the only option that the system will
suggest. In this way, it will be very clear to understand the list of activities to be carried out.

WARNING: It is advisable to double-check the VIN
list to avoid any error on the updates to be
performed. Note that the VIN list shows exactly
the same autofill in Modis.
If the request is submitted without any changes, it
will be automatically evaluated and approved.
NOTE: The entry of the complaint is a selfdeclaration that all the forms listed are up to date
at the time of closure of the SE.

Action 1: Cargo box Replacement
1. Replace hood containment tank per workshop manual:
•

9.82.014 HOOD COMPARTMENT COVER – Detach/Reattach or Replace

2.

Reinstall all removed components, following correct screw sequence.

3.

Perform functional test and close procedure.

4.

Tip: Pay attention to screw torque and sequence to avoid misalignment.

TECHNICAL SERVICE OPERATIONS

Action 2: Check and Adjust Deflector Flap Hinges

1.

Use the touchscreen to open the soft top until the tonneau cover is fully open.
Tip: If it’s hard to monitor flap movement, record a short video or have another technician assist.

2.

Watch the flaps (right and left) during the opening process. They should move together and not touch the soft top.

3.

Repeat the check during closing (from convertible to coupé position).

NOT OK
4. If both movements are correct, no adjustment is needed.
5. If one flap moves earlier or later than the other, proceed to the “FLAP ADJUSTMENT
PROCEDURE” on the next page.

1. If one flap moves earlier or later than the other, adjust as follows:
a.

Identify the flap that moves incorrectly.

b.

Place the tonneau cover in the open position and lift without removing the clip (1) and detach the
head (2) of the tonneau cover cylinder from the hinge.

c.

Unscrew the two screws that secure the deflector hinge to the tonneau cover and rotate the deflector
hinge (1) 360° in the direction shown

d.

Proceed to reassemble the previously removed components and tighten the screws that secure the
hinge to the tonneau cover to the nominal torque of 8 Nm.

e.

Perform a functional test to see if the baffle synchrony has been restored.

f.

If the deflectors are still not synchronized, repeat the procedure.

NOTE: If the hinge that was previously adjusted has worsened, rotate it two full turns (360° x 2) in the opposite
direction of the previous adjustment, then proceed with the torque-based tightening (see Step E).
Otherwise, repeat the entire procedure on the other deflector/hinge.
Always perform a functional test to verify synchronization, and record a short video to confirm the correct
execution of the activity.
Procedure complete.

DEFLECTOR FLAP ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE

1.

Make sure that the vehicle is involved in the Rapid Update and that it has not already been performed.

2.

Using the touchscreen, select the procedure for opening the soft top and press until the tonneau cover
is in the fully open position.

3.

Switch off the ignition and wait 5/7 minutes to allow the hood pump to relieve pressure from the pistons
(1)
With the collaboration of 2 operators, close the tonneau cover (1) by hand using a slight force to
disengage the tonneau cover.
Position the tonneau cover so that the receipt and the latch are at the same height (as shown in the
figure).

If the receipt and the locking device are at the same height, check that the distance between the two
objects is about 5/5.5 mm, the car is compliant, no further action needed.
