WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
In certain circumstances, the Alpha Roof Sealant may not adhere to the Tekmodo Roof. This may be due to dyne levels
on the Tekmodo roof being inconsistent (per Alpha) and if they are too low, Alpha sealant may not adhere. This TSB will
expire on November 1, 2026, or at the end of the Forest River Manufactures’ Warranty, whichever occurs last.

Place vehicle in (P) Park and engage the Parking Brake. Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s).
Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s)
Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the
vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle
from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury,
property damage and/or death.

Re: Technical Bulletin – TekModo Composite Roofing & Alpha 5122 Sealant Adhesion
Issue:
It has been brought to Alpha’s attention that there is an issue regarding the adhesion of Alpha Systems
5122 moisture-cured self-leveling sealant and the TekModo composite roofing material on Forest River
#34 Sunseeker units. Preliminary dyne testing shows that the adhesion properties of the roofing surface
are inconsistent, resulting in potential bond failure in some cases.
Dealer Instructions:
For affected RVs, check the sealant bond by gently lifting where it meets the roofing material. If loose,
follow these steps:
1. Confirm the roof and sealant are clean, dry and free of contaminants.
2. Using a 1"-2" brush, apply Alpha 4110 primer directly to the TekModo roof adjacent to the
existing sealant.
3. Allow the primer to dry fully (flash off) until it’s dry to the touch.
4. Apply fresh Alpha 5122 self-level sealant over the primed area and overlap 1/2” - 1" of the
existing cured sealant. A total bead 1/4" - 3/8" thick and 1-1/2" wide should be sufficient. Do not
apply to unprimed roofing or a compromised bond could result.
5. The sealant typically skins over in 15-30 minutes depending on temperature and humidity. For
optimal results, let it cure for 1-2 days before road travel. Full cure may take up to 30 days
depending on the bead size and weather conditions.

OWNERS: WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free repair. The vehicle Owner
is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. This TSB will expire on November 1, 2026, or at the end of the
Forest River Manufactures’ Warranty, whichever occurs last. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of the
issue and provide the TSB number (located at the top of this page) to the dealership. It is also helpful to give the
dealership a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the repair.

HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair needs to be evaluated by the repairing dealership. However, the dealership may need to
keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
