The following entry is logged in the event memory of the convenience control unit (diagnostic address 0046):
+ _B146C29: Rear Lid Closed Sensor - Implausible signal
Technical Background
The taillights do not switch correctly when the rear lid is opened or closed due to foreign bodies in the area of the
latch or the rear lid sensor.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
1. Check the area of the rotary latch for coarse dirt such as stones or other loose foreign bodies (Figure 1-2).

2, Please remove coarse dirt such as stones or other loose foreign bodies from the area of the latch or the rear lid
sensor and then check whether the taillights switch correctly.
3. If this is not the case, check the measured value block in the convenience control unit (diagnostic address
0046) to see whether the sensors are working properly and perform any other required repair work.
Claims for replaced parts will not be reimbursed.
