Technical Background
There are two distinct causes:
1. Residual oil from the manufacturing of the transmission (lubrication of seal when installing the control module
in transmission housing).
2. Overlap of seal on the transmission control module connector is not sufficient in all tolerances.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Carry out the repair measure described here only if all the specified criteria (PR number(s), part number, control unit
data, software version, etc.) apply exactly.

Otherwise, the measure will not eliminate the problem and repeat repairs may be necessary. In such a case, we
may reject the warranty claim and charge back the cost of the parts.
+ For leaks in this area, proceed as follows:
Remove the dust cover below the gearbox connector (see Figure 2).

Use workshop equipment to check whether this is simply an oil trace or a small accumulation of oil.
+ Qiltrace
Oil traces (see Figure 3): assess whether there are traces of oil in the recess under the dust cap using
workshop equipment (there should only be a light film of oil as shown in Figure 3). Clean the area
thoroughly using workshop equipment and spray the affected area with talcum spray. Then perform an
extensive road test and assess the oil traces again.
If there are no more traces of oil, it is not necessary to fit a new seal. Further measures listed in the TSB are
therefore not effective in this case.
If oil traces are visible again, replace the seal of the gearbox control unit according to the Workshop Manual.
Fit two new seals as part of this repair (part number according to ETKA: 0CK927523). As shown below in
Figure 6.

+ Qil accumulation
Oil accumulation (see Figure 4): assess whether oil is accumulating in the recess under the dust cap using
workshop equipment (there should be oil visible as shown in Figure 5). If this is the case, attach a photo
clearly showing the issue to the report. Then replace the seal of the gearbox control unit according to the
Workshop Manual.
Fit two new seals as part of this repair (part number: 0CK927523). As shown below in Figure 5.
