Summary
On some Cybertruck vehicles, reinforcement brackets inside the front and rear door assemblies might cause low frequency shaking, rattling, and/or vibrations at the door assemblies and/or LH side mirror when the vehicle is driven at high speeds, which does not meet Tesla
quality standards. Upon customer complaint, inspect the vehicle for symptoms related to the condition. If symptoms are present, apply new adhesive to the reinforcement brackets and install additional butyl pads on the affected door assemblies.

Inspect
1. Test drive the vehicle on the highway, at speeds greater than 60 mph (96 km/h), listening for a low-pitched
booming or vibration coming from the doors, and also checking the LH side mirror glass for visible shaking/rattling.
NOTE: Try to note where the noises are coming from (e.g., the LH front door, the front of the vehicle, the rear
of the vehicle, everywhere, etc.).
•
If low-pitched booming/vibration from the doors is not observed, and the LH side mirror does not
shake/rattle while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle is not affected by this bulletin. Discontinue this
bulletin and continue diagnosis. Use correction code S012510002.
•
If a low-pitched booming/vibration from the doors or shaking/rattling at the LH side mirror is observed
while driving at highway speeds, record your findings and continue to the next step.
Rework Front Door
NOTE: Perform these steps even if it’s not clear whether noises were coming from the front of the vehicle.
2. Remove the LH front door closeout panel (refer to Service Manual procedure 1150040051).
3. Use the wire brush tool, gasket scraper tool, and IPA wipes to remove the old adhesive from where the edges of
the reinforcement brackets meet the front end (Figures 1 and 2) and rear end (Figure 3) of the inner front door
panel.
NOTE: The adhesive does not need to be completely removed. Only remove adhesive from where the edges
of the brackets meet the door panel (refer to Figure 4 for a close-up). Adhesive will be reapplied to these joints in
a later step, so make sure the surfaces are properly cleaned for optimal adhesion.

4. Let the IPA dry for at least one minute.
5. Load the adhesive into the applicator and apply the adhesive to the reinforcement bracket and inner door panel
joints that were cleaned in step 3 (Figures 5–7).
WARNING: Read the adhesive instructions and safety datasheet to achieve optimal adhesion and to ensure
personal safety. If instructed, use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as protective gloves
and a respirator mask.
CAUTION: Do not apply adhesive to the drain holes (x2) at the bottom of the front and rear ends of the front
door assembly (Figure 8).
NOTE: Make sure adhesive is applied from the tops of the brackets down to the bottoms of the brackets, just
before the drain holes.

6. Use the gasket scraper tool, razor blade scraper, and IPA wipes to remove the forward upper butyl patch and any
remaining butyl residue from the inner front door panel (Figures 9 and 10).
Figure 9 – LH front door shown; other doors similar
Figure 10 – LH front door shown; other doors similar
7. Using the remaining preinstalled butyl patch as a reference point (Figure 11, yellow, and Figure 9, LH patch),
prepare the inner door panel for additional butyl patch installation by cleaning the panel at the indicated areas
(Figure 11, green) with IPA.
Figure 11
8. Let the IPA dry for at least one minute.
9. Using the remaining preinstalled butyl patch as a reference point (Figure 12, yellow), install 5x butyl patches on
the inner door panel (Figure 12, red). Wet out the newly installed patches with a pressure roller.

10. Install 4x additional butyl patches on top of the 4 lower patches that are currently on the door panel
(Figure 13, yellow). Wet out the newly installed patches with a pressure roller.
Figure 13
11. Determine whether further reworks are necessary:
•
If low-pitched booming/vibration was observed during the test drive, perform steps 2–10 on the RH front
door assembly, and then skip to step 12.
•
If no low-pitched booming/vibration was observed during the test drive, skip to step 13.
12. Determine the next steps based on the findings from the test drive that was performed in step 1:
•
If the low-pitched booming/vibration seemed to come only from the front half of the vehicle, or if the origin
of the low-pitched booming/vibration was not clearly distinguishable, skip to step 13.
•
If the noise concern seemed to also come from the rear half of the vehicle, skip to step 14.
13. Let the adhesive on the reworked door(s) cure for at least 2 hours, reinstall all parts that were removed for access,
reconnect MV power, and test drive the vehicle on the highway at speeds greater than 60 mph (96 km/h).
•
If no low-pitched booming/vibration is observed, and the LH side mirror does not shake/rattle, discontinue
this procedure and use correction code S022510002 or S032510002.
•
If the low-pitched booming/vibration is still present, perform steps 2–10 on the RH front door assembly (if
not already performed), and then continue to step 14.
Rework Rear Doors
NOTE: The rear door rework procedure is similar to the front door rework procedure, except that there is no old
adhesive at the reinforcement brackets to remove.
14. Remove the LH rear door closeout panel (refer to Service Manual procedure 1150040112).
15. Use IPA wipes to clean the areas where the edges of the reinforcement brackets meet the front end and rear ends
of the inner rear door panel (Figures 1 and 3).
16. Let the IPA dry for at least one minute.
17. Apply the adhesive to the reinforcement bracket and inner rear door panel joints that were cleaned in step 15
(Figure 5).
WARNING: Read the adhesive instructions and safety datasheet to achieve optimal adhesion and to ensure
personal safety. If instructed, use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as protective gloves
and a respirator mask.

CAUTION: Do not apply adhesive to the drain holes (x2) at the bottom of the front and rear ends of the rear
door assembly (Figure 8).
NOTE: Make sure adhesive is applied from the tops of the brackets down to the bottoms of the brackets, just
before the drain holes.
18. Use the gasket scraper tool, razor blade scraper, and IPA wipes to remove the forward upper butyl patch and any
remaining butyl residue from the inner rear door panel (Figures 9 and 10)
19. Using the remaining preinstalled butyl patch as a reference point (Figure 11, yellow), prepare the inner door panel
for additional butyl patch installation by cleaning the panel at the indicated areas (Figure 11, green) with IPA.
20. Let the IPA fry for at least one minute.
21. Using the remaining preinstalled butyl patch as a reference point (Figure 12, yellow), install 5x butyl patches on
the inner rear door panel (Figure 12, red, and Figure 14). Wet out the newly installed patches with a pressure
roller.

22. Install 4x additional butyl patches on top of the 4 lower patches that are currently on the door panel
(Figure 13, yellow). Wet out the newly installed patches with a pressure roller.
23. Repeat steps 14–22 on the RH rear door assembly.
24. Reinstall all parts that were removed for access and reconnect MV power.
25. Let the adhesive on the reworked rear door(s) cure for at least 2 hours, and then test drive the vehicle on the
highway, at speeds greater than 60 mph (96 km/h), to confirm the repair. Use correction code S042510002.
