SYMPTOM:

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
● U11E3-00 - TCM Lost Communication With ESM On DPT CAN.
● B15A1-00 - Media Port 1 Connection.
● U11C2 - Lost Transmission Message.
● U11E4-00 - CAN Communication Messages Missing.
● U120C - Lost Brake Booster Signal.
● U1216-00 - Lost Communication With DASM.
● U121E-00 - Lost Communication With Steering Wheel Cruise Control Switch.
● U1267-00 - No Valid Data From ESM On CAN-C Or CAN-DPT.

Customers may also experience one or more of the following:
● Android Auto not working.
● Radio screen is black for one to two seconds while driving and then returns to normal operation.
● Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) wiring incorrectly routed.
● Noise from the front axle.
● Decals on the left and right fenders are peeling off.
● Right hand side speaker not working or exhibits a rattle noise.
● USB port not working.
● Interior rearview mirror delaminating.
● Tailgate glass damper mounting is peeling off or has come off.
● Abnormal noise from chain tensioner.
● Radio control on steering wheel malfunctions or has a delay in response.
CAUSE:

Manufacturing issue

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-199,
date of issue September 27, 2025. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU
service action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library. All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Is the android auto not working or disconnecting or radio screen have no response or is a black screen for
short period of one or two seconds and then back to normal?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 2.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 4.
2. Remove the radio to disconnect and connect the radio wire harness connector. Refer to the detailed
service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8A Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity / Radio / Removal and Installation.
3. Is the issue resolved by removing and connecting the radio wire harness connector and then rebooting the
radio system?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 4.
● NO>>> Replace the radio.
4. Does the Steering transfer motor set DTC C140A-11 or is the wiring harness routing incorrect with a wiring
pinch?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 5.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 6.
5. Check the wiring harness routing and replace the steering transfer motor if found NOK with wire harness
pinched Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8E - Electronic Control Modules / Module, Drivetrain Control
(DTCM) / Removal and Installation.

6. Does the front axle have noise while driving, check for vehicle drifts to the left or right?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 7.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 8.
7. Perform wheel alignment. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 02 - Front Suspension / Wheel Alignment / Standard Procedure.
8. Is there abnormal noise from tensioner chain?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 9.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 10.
9. Replace the tensioner chain. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library under: Service Info> 09 - Engine, 3.6L / Valve Timing / Chain and Sprockets, Timing /
Removal and Installation.

10. Is the left or right side Wrangler sticker decal peeling off from either front fender Fig. 3?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 11.
● NO>>> proceed to Step 12.

11. Peel off and replace the sticker decal.
NOTE: The sticker surface must be cleaned and dry before applying the new sticker decal.
12. Does the right side door panel speaker not work or is making a rattle noise?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 13.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 14.
13. Replace the right side speaker. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8A - Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity /
Speaker / Removal and Installation.
14. Does the remote radio switch on the steering wheel function?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 16.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 15.
15. Replace the remote radio switch. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8A - Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity / Switch,
Remote Radio / Removal and Installation.
16. Is the USB port working?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 18.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 17.
17. Replace the USB hub. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 08 - Electrical / 8A - Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity / Media Hub /
Removal and Installation.

18. Is the inside rear view mirror glass peeling / delaminating Fig. 4?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 19.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 20.

19. Replace the inside rear view mirror. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info> 23 - Body / Interior / Mirror, Rearview / Removal
and Installation.
20. Is the liftgate glass damper mount peeling or has the damper come off from the mount Fig. 5?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 21.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 22.

21. Replace the liftgate glass damper or, if required, the tailgate glass. Refer to the detailed service procedures
available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info> 23 - Body / Stationary Glass / Backlite /
Removal and Installation.
22. Does the message "Shifter inspection required" appear on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) along with
DTC U0103, U11E3, U1267 or U114C?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 23.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 24.
23. Replace the gear shift assembly bezel indicator. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info> 23 - Body / Interior / Bezel, Shifter / Removal and
Installation.
24. Does the MIL illuminated and DTC P2453 or P245F set indicating the differential pressure sensor?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 25.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 26.
25. Refer to all applicable published technical service bulletins for detailed repair procedures and labor times.

26. Any of the following DTC's setting along with the engine not starting?

27. Remove the gear shift lever bezel to gain access to the wire harness routing. Refer to the detailed service
procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info> 23 - Body / Interior / Bezel,
Shifter / Removal and Installation.
28. Inspect the wire harness routing.
29. Is the wiring harness fouling with the stud Fir. 6?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 30.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 31.

30. Wrap the wires with Tesa tape and reroute the wiring harness, or if required, replace wiring harness.
31. Clear DTCs.
