Purpose
To address customer concerns regarding the unprotected ON/OFF button of the Xantrex
power inverter located in the luggage compartment. The button should be safeguarded to
prevent accidental activation, which can result in unintended battery drain.
Background
Customers have reported that the inverter ON/OFF button can be accidentally
pressed.
Unintended inverter activation will drain the batteries if left on.
This procedure provides a temporary corrective action to reduce the risk.
Interim Solution
Technicians are to install an adhesive button cover and an explanatory decal over the
inverter ON/OFF button.
Button Cover: Prevents unintentional activation.
Decal: Provides clear user guidance.
This action will help eliminate inadvertent battery drain caused by leaving the inverter
powered on.

Application Criteria
This procedure applies only to inverters with firmware version 2.68.
Preparation
1. Verify Firmware Version
Access the inverter menu to confirm firmware version (refer to Figures 1 and 2).
If firmware version is not 2.68, do not proceed and contact Quality.

2. Surface Preparation
Remove the protective plastic film from the inverter display.
Ensure the front face of the inverter is clean and dry to prepare for label and button
cover application.

Installation Instructions
1. Remove the plastic backing from the adhesive side of the button cover.
2. Position the button cover over the inverter ON/OFF button, ensuring it does not
obscure the adjacent power symbol.

3. Remove the plastic backing from the decal and place it in the designated
position. (See illustration below.)
4. Press firmly to secure the adhesive.
