SITUATION
A clicking noise can be heard from one or both front seat backrests. This noise is heard when leaning
against the backrest of the seat, or while the vehicle is cornering.

CAUSE
The hooks of the back support mat mounting spring move against the seat backrest frame.

CORRECTION
Apply 2 cable straps per seat to lock the spring
hook(s) so they can’t move relative to the seat
backrest frame. The cable straps are only
required in the two locations circled in red.

Remove the seat backrest cover and foam
cushion to access the seat backrest frame.
Secure the fastening spring hooks of the flex
mat to the seat back rest frame utilizing cable
straps (2 per seat).

Once the cable straps are installed, reinstall the
seat foam and cover; and re-evaluate the noise
on a test drive.

“Search” icon. If the “Vehicle Selection” window displays two or more model possible vehicle choices, select
the applicable Model, or enter the full VIN (17 characters) instead to proceed. Click on the “Flat Rate Units”
button and enter a flat rate labor operation code number “without spaces” in the field to the right, click on the
“Search” icon to display the corresponding listing of “Flat rate unit group details” that are available and their
corresponding FRU allowances.
