Please perform the procedure outlined in this Service Information on all affected vehicles before customer
delivery. In the event the customer has already taken delivery of the vehicle, please perform the procedure
the next time the vehicle is in the shop if the campaigns have a status of remedy available. Otherwise,
please release the vehicle.

Vehicles which require this campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR,

SITUATION
The rear right driven half-shaft (aka output shaft/driven shaft) may not have been manufactured correctly
during production and may break. In the event of a failure, there could be significant noises in the area of the
rear axle and the driving performance will be noticeably reduced.
CORRECTION
Replace the right rear half-shaft.
PROCEDURE
Replace the rear right driven shaft as described in Repair Instruction REP 33 21 000 “Removing and
installing/replacing the left or right driven shaft”.
