Summary

SITUATION
After programming the vehicle via ISTA/RSU to
25-07-5xx, the temperature display at the
bottom of the Central Information Display (CID)
may display the incorrect color for the
temperature setting (i.e., the color shows red
when the air conditioning is active (circled),
instead of the intended blue).
Also, some of the ambient lighting strips may
no longer function properly.

CAUSE
Unfavorable logic in the LED control unit hub.
CORRECTION
Follow the test plan to encode the LED control unit hub.
PROCEDURE
1. Verify the customer’s concern.
If the vehicle cannot be parked in an area with low ambient lighting to easily view some of the
affected lighting strips, hold a medium-size piece of cardboard over the area to provide cover
2. Connect an approved BMW battery charger /power supply to the vehicle (SI B04 23 10).
3. Connect the vehicle to ISTA and perform a vehicle short test.
4. Read fault codes from the vehicle.
5. Encode LED control unit hub using ISTA 4.55.3x (estimated release mid-September 2025, pending

6. Verify the functionality of the ambient lighting after following the test plan and clearing fault codes via ISTA.
