Customer states:

The customer complains that the side assist issues warnings for no reason about vehicles in the blind spot. The light
in the exterior mirror on the corresponding side of the vehicle lights up.

Workshop findings:

The complaint can usually be reproduced in the workshop.

This bulletin may apply to vehicles still within the new model launch repair authorization period!

— For vehicles still in the launch phase, the workshop must create a case with the Technical Assistance
Center (TAC) per the repair authorization. Reference this TSB number in the first line of the TAC case.

Please check whether TSB 2077960 is visible for this vehicle. If this is the case, please perform the software update

described in TSB 2077960.

Then perform a dynamic calibration of the lane change assist control units -J769-/-J770- and the radar sensor
control units for object detection -J1088-/-J1089- (calibration drive) according to the Workshop Manual depending
on the vehicle’s equipment.

The software update described in TSB 2077960 will be released in stages for the individual vehicle

models/markets, depending on availability.

lf the software update described above (TSB 2077960) is not yet available, please perform the following step

(depending on the vehicle’s equipment):

. Record all measured values for the lane change assist control units -J769-/-J770- (diagnostic address 810B
1 810C) and the radar sensor control units for object detection -J1088-/-J1089- (diagnostic address 8109 /
810A).

* Check that the lane change assist control units -J769-/-J770- and radar sensor control units for object
detection -J1088-/-J1089- are fitted correctly and are securely engaged in the brackets. The wiring must not
be routed in the sensor’s field of view. Please ensure that there no stickers/labels, adhesive residue or dirt in
the sensors’ fields of view on the inside of the bumper. Please attach photos that clearly show any issues to
Doc-IT.

+ Perform a dynamic calibration of the lane change assist control units -J769-/-J770- and the radar sensor
control units for object detection -J1088-/-J1089- (calibration drive) according to the Workshop Manual.

. Record all measured values for the lane change assist control units -J769-/-J770- (diagnostic address 810B
1810C) and the radar sensor control units for object detection -J1088-/-J1089- (diagnostic address 8109 /
810A) again.

+ Send the diagnostic log online.
