Parts and repair procedures are now available.
Certain chassis may have a rear suspension tracking rod that interferes with the left rear brake valve components
during full suspension travel. This interference could cause a loss of the rear service brake or ABS modulation for
one rear axle wheel end, increasing the risk of a crash.

Introduction
Certain chassis may have a rear suspension tracking rod that interferes with the left rear brake valve components
during full suspension travel. This interference could cause a loss of the service brake or ABS modulation for one
rear axle wheel end, increasing the risk of a crash.
All affected chassis will be inspected for damage to the left-hand rail brake valve component s. If any damage is
found, the left rear brake valve components will be replaced and both sides will be relocated. If no damage is
found, the existing left rear brake valve components will be reused and both sides will be relocated.

Situation
320 (315 US and 5 Canada) Vehicle Model Year 2024-2026 models 3 67, 548, 567, and 589 chassis built from

06/19/2023 through 04/10/2025 equipped with Hendrickson HMX suspensions.

Resolution
Safety Recall
Service all affected chassis that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
1. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their
chassis is on the list.
2. Order all parts and ensure parts have arrived before the truck comes in for service.
3. In Service Management, select Campaign 25PBE to add to the case. If the unit is released back into service
without performing the repair, make sure to also release the Campaign in Service Management.
4. If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review SIR for “Complete” next to the 25PBE
campaign code prior to performing this repair.
5. Follow the procedures to inspect and relocate or replace the rear brake components.

Federal Law
​It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to sell or lease new vehicles covered by this recall until the defect or
noncompliance has been corrected.

Warranty
Starting on 08/13/2025, there is no time or mileage limit for this recall.
Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
All Recommended Repair codes below are editable. Please only add part numbers for specific brake hoses, bolts
and nuts and/or the rear brake component if it was damaged. No additional labor time is required for replacing the
rear brake component vs relocating the rear brake component.
Repair photos are required. Claims submitted without these photos may be denied. Attach three repair
photos showing the completed relocation of the rear brake modulators or bulkhead brackets:
1. One of the left-hand frame rail modulator valve assembly or the bulkhead fitting bracket in the new
location.
2. One of the right-hand frame rail modulator valve assembly or the bulkhead fitting bracket in the new
location.
3. One of the end of the frame to clearly illustrate the new routing of the rear brake lines down to the
rear brake chambers.

Clip-Manifold Support Welding Required
2.0 hours to inspect and relocate the rear brake components, welding the clip-manifold supports to the axle
is required. Use Recommended Repair code 25PBEA.
If the rear brake component is not damaged, reuse it.
If the rear brake component is damaged, replace it.
Clip-Manifold Support Welding Not Required
1.8 hours to inspect and relocate the rear brake components, welding the clip-manifold support to the axle

is not required. Use Recommended Repair Code 25PBEB.
If the rear brake component is not damaged, reuse it.
If the rear brake component is damaged, replace it.
For supplemental repairs, file a long form claim and use code 25PBE in the Campaign Code field.
File the claim within 7 days in accordance with warranty policy.
Take-Off Parts Disposition: Parts may be scrapped 30 days after claim has been filed.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Peterbilt Motors Company has decided a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain Model Year 2024-2026 367, 548,
567, and 589 model vehicles manufactured from 06/19/2023 through 04/10/2025 with Hendrickson HMX suspensions. In certain chassis,
the left-rear brake component could become damaged by contact with the suspension. This could lead to reduced braking or ABS
modulation for one rear axle wheel end, which may increase the risk of a crash. The ABS dash lamp may illuminate before brake
performance is affected.
What is the problem?

The left-rear brake component could become damaged by contact with the suspension.

What will your dealer do?

Your Peterbilt dealer will inspect and relocate your brake component.

What should you do?

Contact your dealer immediately to schedule an appointment.
