Summary
Complaint Transmission limp-home mode with fault message in IC "Gear Change to R Not Possible", the even gears are locked. The concern of transmission limp-home mode disappears after the ignition is switched off and on again. P092500 The shift valve of the hollow shaft has a malfunction. _ is present in the DKG Control Unit (Y3/14n4), and the extended freeze frame data shows hex code 25 F2 (see attachments for reference) Cause Hydraulic fault caused by the transmission software. The engagement of 2nd gear by preselection after 4-3 downshift does not function due to activation fault. Check the transmission software level and follow the steps below:
You can use the EEPROM as txt file for Program version (see attachments for reference)
18a software:
Flash transmission control unit Y3/14nY with latest software using Xentry, version 09/2021 or 12/2021 and all add-ons
(except model designations 118.351, 118.651, 177.051, 177.151, 177.951); delete fault memory.
18b software:
Flash transmission control unit Y3/14nY with latest software using Xentry, version 12/2023 and all add-ons
If there is no software available for the DKG Control Unit, or the concern is still present after the software update:
Please submit a TIPS case to the Powertrain Inbox and include the following information:
- Initial Quick Test w/ Freeze Frame Data
- DKG Control Unit Log
- Guided Test result for P092500
- Initial EEPROM (before performing any adaptations)
- Current EEPROM data
