This bulletin applies to the following:

3.0L I6 Hurricane SO Twin Turbo ESS (Sales Code EFH) and 8-Spd NOTE: This bulletin applies to

● WL vehicles built on or after August 11, 2023 (MDH 0811XX) and
on or before September 26, 2024 (MDH 0926XX) equipped with a
3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine Upg I w/ESS (Sales Code ERC) and the
8-Spd Auto 850RE Trans (Make) (Sales Code DFT) or the 8-Spd
Auto 8HP50 Trans (Buy) (Sales Code DFW).
● WS vehicles built on or after August 03, 2023 (MDH 0803XX) and
on or before October 25, 2024 (MDH 1025XX) equipped with a 3.0L
I6 Hurricane SO Twin Turbo ESS (Sales Code EFH) or a 3.0L I6
Hurricane HO Twin Turbo w/ ESS (Sales Code EFC) and an 8-Spd
Auto 8HP75 Trans (Buy-US) (Sales Code DFR).

CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
● U0101 - Lost Communication With The Transmission Control Module (TCM).
● U0402 - Implausible Data Received From TCM.
● U0418 - Implausible Data Received From Brake System Control Module 1.
Customers may also comment on the following:
● Vehicle will go in limp-in mode. After the vehicle enters limp-in mode and has been shifted into Park, the
vehicle will not shift into a forward or reverse gear.

CAUSE:

CAN terminals inside the valve body corrode losing communication with the vehicle.

This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 21-016-25 REV. B, date of issue August 07,
2025, which should be removed from your files. All revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** and
include an updated part number.
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-095,
date of issue May 17, 2025.
REPAIR SUMMARY:
This bulletin involves replacing the transmission valve body assembly.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the symptom/condition above, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: This is not a proactive repair. This Repair Procedure is to only be performed under this RSU if
the vehicle exhibits the symptom/conditions listed in this document.
1. Replace the transmission valve body.
● 850RE - Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service Library under:
Service Info >21 - Transmission and Transfer Case / Automatic - 8HP50/850RE / Valve Body/ Removal
and Installation.
● 8HP75 - Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service Library under:
Service Info >21 - Transmission and Transfer Case / Automatic -8HP75 / Valve Body/ Removal and
Installation.
2. Program the TCM. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service
Library under: Service Info >08 - Electrical / 8E - Electronic Control Modules / Module, Transmission
Control(TCM) / Module Programming.
3. Clear all DTCs that may have been set.
